what caused you to get into Linux?

Windows was too slow on my older laptops. Installing Linux (Ubuntu) on it gave it new life.
If you could travel to any fictional world, which one would you pick and what would you do there?
@Fissionami i'd love to go the malazan universe. Probably as mage like Quick Ben.
