POLL - Will you stay on lemmy?
  • I'll definitely be sticking around to see what happens with Lemmy. I may end up using kbin primarily but am very much interested in subscribing to Lenny communities across instances. It's been tremendous fun learning about the Fediverse and ActivityPub, and I also think that decentralization is a good response to what we have all witnessed with centralized social media

  • Currently on Lemmy but very interested in creating an account here on kbin for the improved interaction with Fediverse apps. Reading this has been so helpful in seeing the pros and cons to each option. Thanks to everyone for sharing their views

  • Programming Music
  • I was scrolling furiously trying to find a mention of lofi girl 😆. What a great thread though, really curious to listen to some of these suggestions!

I’ve been buying lofi girl tracks and building my own collection of coding music from Bandcamp. (https://lofigirl.bandcamp.com/)

Helps support the music creators and I can customize my soundscape to suit the coding task at hand.

  • Are there any Reddit refugees spending more time on Lemmy than Reddit?
  • I have been back but not through the mobile app just to check on a few subreddits that I have not yet been able to find Fediverse community counterparts yet.

I’ve become mildly obsessed with exploring the Fediverse though and am easily spending more time here.

  • Steam Client Update June 14, 2023
  • I agree with the OP, the whole UI facelift looks much cleaner. I also like the notifications, actually helped me realize something on my wishlist was on sale. I usually find that out from an email Valve sends out 😆

Hopefully all these changes don’t come at the expense of computer resources though!
