I used to do this, but I am drowning in way too many inks now to color match all the time lol
I have a notebook dedicated to scratch notes. It's chaotic but I definitely have better recall and can even remember which pages I wrote specific info on, vs using a digital method (which really makes no sense because it's so much easier to organize things digitally lol). I also have a planner for listing appointments, meetings, etc. and for my daily to-do lists. I've tried different systems, both analog and digital, but this is what works best for me.
They're pretty smooth writers out of the box. I used to hate Jinhao because all the pens I got had dud nibs, but they've improved vastly in QC. The five Jinhao 82s I got all wrote nicely when I inked them.
I use mine for work notes, random to-do lists, and journaling. Writing on paper helps me remember things better so I always have a pen and paper on me so I can jot things down anytime.
I've got two! I love how chonky the pen is. It writes quite well out of the box. It just felt a bit dry for me, but I love wet pens so that's probably a me thing. I just tuned the nib to write wetter.
People say it's a copy of the MB 149. I've never tried a Montblanc, since it's out of my price range, but I'm quite glad to have a cheaper alternative because the thickness of the Jinhao x159 is perfect for my death grip haha.
This was one of my favorite games on the Nintendo DS!
