Not for those if is that are new.
For anyone looking at this. I’m looking at ways to tag/distinguish posts for what they’re relevant to. Unlike other sites, there isn’t a built-in feature for this. However, for now simply use [Your Tag]. That at least makes your title standout a little.

We can be ignorant together, because I don’t know the answer to that question. I’m still getting a handle on the mod tools. I like your suggestion though, so I will file that away to look into further.
Which is stupid. A mod can just ban you forever and call it a day. Where the Admins have fucked up is if you harass a mod via modmail, they can only mute you for I think 28 days max, before you can start harassing them again. So, instead of letting a mod simply mute you forever, they created the report bullshit.
They recently, meaning I don’t exactly know when it happened, gave mods the ability to report you for “Abuse of the report tool”. For the record, I’m a mod on some subreddits, and that’s an absurd thing to need. I’ve learned a few things about being a Reddit mod.
- It’s not nearly as hard as some mods make you think it is.
- If they actually experience difficulty, it’s probably cause they suck at being a mod.
- Subs that experience issues, are typically cess pools like r/conservative.
No, I am not affiliated with that subreddit, other than as a member.
I haven't reached out to anyone yet.
Well, in this particular post, just me introducing myself.
Solid question. Since I just took over mod duties this morning, I don’t have a great answer for you at the moment. I still need time to read over the current rules, see what I think might need to be updated, and go from there.
So, be patient with me, and I’ll get there.
Great advice. Thank you!!
I understand, and I appreciate you giving me the chance. If it helps at all, I have considerable mod experience on other platforms.
New Mod taking over the community
Hi everyone. I’m Cinder Bloc. I joined Lemmy very recently, and this was the first community I went looking for. Did some digging and realized that the creator had abandoned the community and deleted their account. I requested to take over, and here we are.
So, for now, bear with me a little as I get a handle on how things work.
Otherwise, let’s get this thing going and active, and post that Intel.
Request to take over abandoned community
The creator of this community, [email protected], is not active, and appears to have deleted their account. I would like to take over this community and build it up right.
Hello. Also here from Reddit. Just created my account yesterday.
