Who's to say that the Ford Government won't ban cycling on all major roads?
  • Ah. In that case, I think associations like CycleTO would need to launch a lawsuit against the provincial government to reverse the decision. The government lost big time on bill 124, which shows that our rights win out over time, as long as we’re willing to fight stupid ideas in court.

  • Major papers are giving Trump’s Jan. 6 indictment dramatically less attention than they did Clinton’s server
  • I don’t think Stephen Colbert was being serious when he said that quote. Mind you, all the quote sites that cite him saying that do not provide the source. Based on his persona from The Colbert Report, I imagine this was part of a joke, especially given the names he called out.

  • Mega Man 2 - 1988
  • I still remember my older brother renting mega man back when I was 9 or 10 years old and I looked at the box art and said “this looks like a terrible game”. And then the game itself was epic for its time.

  • People who used older macintosh OS in the 90s, what was it like for your daily use, work, games etc?
  • They were fantastic to use. I remember using ResEdit back in the day to change my menu names in the Finder, knowing what every system extension did so I could delete non essential ones to speed up the system.

Unlike these days, you spent more time getting work done, rather than fighting the application or OS.

I loathe how new OS’s and programs change the UI / UX these days and make it worse every time. Looking at you Adobe / Microsoft!

  • Why is Windows 11 so annoying?
  • Most games I play work on Proton. It’s Destiny 2 that will get your account banned if you use Linux. I’ve invested too much time at this point to risk a ban, so I’ll need to wait until I finish the last DLC before I switch. I’ve run Suse and Redhat in the past, but the last time I attempted to game on Linux was Team Fortress 2. Based on my experience with SteamDeck, it wouldn’t be hard to get most games up and running.

  • Why is Windows 11 so annoying?
  • I finally had enough of Win11 and downgraded to 10. What a difference! I can actually reliably change my audio outputs again with 2 clicks! I can get to old school settings panels with less hassle and digging too.

I know this comes off as a kidnapping victim saying “My old kidnapper let me use the shower”, but until all my games run well in Linux, I’m stuck here.
