MR Fodder Prime
  • I've gone through four different methods of tracking all of that. When I first started pushing mr, I used a excel spreadsheet with a ton of conditional formatting and autolookups. Eventually it started to get really laggy so I turned it into a sql database which worked fine but just like the excel sheet it was a pain to maintain as I had to go back through updates I'd skipped and add a bunch of stuff retroactively after breaks etc.

After getting tired of the database shenanigans I found this website which worked fine (still does). Now days I usually just use Alecaframe however. I don't really like overwolf, but the benefits outweigh the downsides especially after wfinfo started acting up on relic reward screens.

The biggest advantage of alecaframe is that you can see what part you still need to farm in the app without having to dig through the foundry which I find very helpful at least since I tend to forget what parts I miss. A small tip a lot of people don't know is also that you can just search for parts in the relic screen and you'll see all Relics with that part so you don't have to dig through to find out what you have.

  • MR17 and I have no idea what to do
  • For weapons i find a lot of how bad I find certain guns depend on my mindstate. For years my favorite weapon has been and still is the Braton prime (not a big fan of the incarnon mode on it so I just use the base version the vast majority of the time). Was it a good gun to take into steel path before its incarnon, not really. That is part of the charm however, nuking entire rooms with aoe is fun, but sometime I want just me and grandpa Braton to shoot Grineer in the face one at a time like the old days. If anything I find I enjoy it slightly less now that the incarnon is buffing up the base stats. Maybe I should see how far I can push the mk1 version instead?

It sound like you're reaching burnout territory however in which case my recommendation is just take a break whenever you start playing as a obligation instead of just because it's fun. Come back either when a new update drops (in this case Kullervo is just around the corner), or you just feel like playing again.

There's a lot to do as a personal goal (personally i'm working on legend 1 and maxing out the helminth), but if you burn out from the grind getting there then that sort of ruins the point no?

Play something else for a bit, warframe will be there when you feel like doing space ninja stuff again.

  • How much does platinum need to be discounted in order for you to buy it?
  • Anything less than 50% is a joke in my opinion, and even 50% is a hard sell, but I have used it for one of the smaller bundles a few times over the years. I recently got a 60% which I did not know existed which I did use for one of the middle bundles.

Pretty much every time I get a 75% I buy the top bundle, but it's not really happened in a long time ^hint hint de, i want to give you money so please give 75%^.

  • Import posts from reddit?
  • Having something like a 'WarframeArchive' community here which was just a copy of the subreddit would go a long way towards making this less of a painful migration if that is indeed the plan.

A good reddit alternative is needed at this point, but losing the information on the subreddit would be a massive blow to the accessibility of the game. Could that information be remade, sure. But that would still mean losing years and years of game history. While things like old redtexts and thoughts about the removal of coptering is not really relevant to the game anymore, it is still part of the history and seeing things like that lost to the mists of time is just depressing.

There are alternatives, but those are pretty much:

Make the sub read only and direct over to lemmy - if you want to affect reddit in any way is suboptimal as a lot of traffic would still go there. It would also most likely lock all of that content to the subreddit once the api changes are in effect.

Open the subreddit again - This would most likely just kill the lemmy community in it's infancy since the vast majority would just go back to posting there

Try to use cached versions of the subreddit - This is the worst option in my mind and the one we are currently stuck with. There is no guarantee these will remain up for any prolonged period of time. And even if they are it is a clunky way to find the information you want and as much as it pains me to say it, too advanced for many.

For these reasons I believe we as a community need somewhere else to find the information stored on r/warframe and the script linked in the main post seems like a good way to do that, but the caveat is that it has to happen before the api changes go into effect. This puts us on a two week deadline and with the subreddit set to private there is no way for anyone aside from the mods to actually do this. Once the information is off reddit that should be the time to ask what to do with it, but first that data has to be obtained while we still have the chance. For that reason I implore anyone with access to the subreddit to archive it now while we still can, or to open up access to someone who will. Once July 1st rolls around that will all become infinitely harder to do.

  • how many times do you forma a weapon/frame?
  • Entirely dependant on the weapon/frame. I basically just create the build I want, figure out how many forma is needed after which I decide if it's worth the investment. For me the key part is to have the build in your head (or just make it on overframe I guess) before you start.

I have very few things with 7-8 forma though since most builds are finished before that, and too many forma can be limiting if you want a alternate build (changing elements on a weapon for instance or a different focus on a frame build), the only thing I have that is fully formad is I think the trumna.

At this stage though I don't really mind just burning a forma for random stuff, and sp circuit has caused my forma usage to increase drastically since if I scout a weapon that could be good but that I never really played outside of leveling or that has a really old build I might as well drop a potato/arcane adapter/forma into it if it can benefit from them. I found a few fun weapons that I'd just leveled and moved on like that.

  • FashionFrame: Do You Have a 'Standard' Color Scheme?
  • The default look I tend to go for is a sandstone base (top row of fire pallette has some good ones for most frames) with dark and occasionally light blue from the classic pallette along with brass or bronze trim (again from regular classic). The more desaturated colors of classic works very nice for a subdued look. I feel like it gives that classic egyptian theme.

I do have several frames with other colour schemes, but I like the simplicity of the blue accented sandstone and it usually also works well with weapons for that nice cohesive look. The fact that it only uses two palettes is also quite neat if you don't have many palettes unlocked as you could probably make do with only the fire pallette (or anything else with decent light orange/yellow) for most frames since classic middle tends to work well and it's free.

  • Subsume ideas for revenant
  • I have a regular revenant with repair dispensary lying around just for landhorn farming, but would not really recommend that for regular gameplay. A regular dispensary might work just for support but duration will like be a issue.

Maybe Tharros Strike for the armour strip.

  • Migrating wiki ?
  • I haven't been on the Poe wiki in years so this might be how that works as well, but the ideal solution would be to have something like the runescape wiki which has the developer shoulder the operating costs (they are currently looking into implementing ads, but that is to cover wiki staff salaries).

After getting used to it it's really hard to go back to warframe wiki again (although with some heavy use of custom ublock rules it's at least useable), but migrating it over was a monumental effort to the best of my knowledge.

I feel like DE would have to be the ones to make the first move here though.

  • Incarnon week 1 round 2: What are you picking?
  • I went Braton last time (only week so far I did not have time to get 10) and this will probably be Lato/Kunai. I'll probably start only going to rank 5 though. Don't mind skipping on some since I have a massive clamp deficit as is and 10 takes a bit too long to justify when I still have other farms I'm also working on.
