Some people are just built different
  • You sit and stare at the wall?

  • Some things I believe should be integral to Lemmy
  • I tried LemmyTools, but scaling was a bit janky. It seems to ignore the original size of the image when you initiate the scaling.

edit: I even tried editing the script, but I inadvertently increased the jankyness by a factor of about 2.5. I blame laziness and chatGPT.

  • RES was a godsend. I hope lemmy will incorporate in-line scaling! Youtube embedding, not so much...

Edit: Thank you to the three of you!

  • Why do so many tech companies, like Reddit and Twitter are making their platforms worse for their users all of a sudden?
  • I think it had more to do with tech companies using their API heavily to train their language models. Getting users over to their app is just a bonus, probably.

    vlemmy.net server error

I realize this might not be the place for vlemmy.net outage issues, but this is the page listed on the error message.

For a few hours, I have been unable to access any communities at all. This is the message:

"There was an error on the server. Try refreshing your browser. If that doesn't work, come back at a later time. If the problem persists, you can seek help in the Lemmy support community or Lemmy Matrix room.

The server returned this error: couldnt_get_posts. This may be useful for admins and developers to diagnose and fix the error"

Is this limited to vlemmy.net or is this a federation level event?

Seems to me like I need to make several accounts on different instances in case of defederation or server issues, which is not viable long-term.
