What apps/websites do you use to read manga?
  • @joucker29 was using mangasoup for apple while it was in beta and it was the best. Got taken off the app store unfortunately. I think the dev is still somewhat trying to get it back on there, there's updates on r/mangasoup. Other than that using Tachiyomi on my boox leaf2 has been amazing.

  • What have you been reading this week? - July 17, 2023
  • @seraph Been reading Berserk for the first time and just got past the Eclipse this past weekend. It's crazy how you know what to expect going into it and it still just hits hard

  • What type of games do you enjoy playing?
  • @Call_Me_Maple @TheVampireSaga big emphasis on "games that respect my time"

  • What type of games do you enjoy playing?
  • @TheVampireSaga I know this is going to sound dumb, but I really enjoy gameplay focused fun single player games that are easy to pickup. I was thinking about the variety of games I play and that seems like the common denominator. I like a good story but I don't really care for a good story in a game tbh, it's a cherry on top. If I can pick the game back up after a few days of not playing and have fun for 30mins~ then I'm happy.

  • Gaming hot takes?
  • @SJ_Zero @LeylaaLovee Maybe this can be said for the tripple A space, but indie devs have been firing on all cylinders the last 5-6 years.

  • Gaming hot takes?
  • @simple @LeylaaLovee I think where we are now with fighting games is exactly where it should stay. Auto combos and modern controls make it so the bar to entry is super low, but they need to be scaled down so that they do less damage and the incentive should always be learn pure combos to get better. At the end of the day there's no interesting high level play if you can press a button three times and do 30% damage.

  • Microsoft wins FTC fight to buy Activision Blizzard
  • @LetMeEatCake @diskape Everything you said sounds about right. I have a hard time believing it would work out that way in reality though. MS would for sure pull that but would people tolerate it? Most of the scummy stuff I see people tolerate comes from games and companies that they previously enjoyed before microtransactions or degrading quality. If MS just ups gamepass to 25 or something a month, I think people would just not buy it.
