Also same, this just seems to be a rite of passage with Steam
JS and Python are both extremely bad for this. I’ve been working with data scientists and it’s hell trying to tell them that no, they can’t just install whatever libraries they want
The US. Our dominos served a 15-20 mile radius in my medium sized suburban town growing up.
It looks like it’s now the 6.99 deal
It’s been 6 or 7 years since I worked for dominoes
Bike is not faster for a 20 mile delivery range
You’re never going to find exactly what you want, but the 5.99 deal for a medium 2 topping also applies to the cheesy bread you ordered, bringing the total down significantly.
Never order dominos without coupons. It’s exponentially more expensive than anything you can get with a coupon.
Dominos largest profit margins are on orders exactly like this. It’s often more economical to order more food at a cheaper price.
Paramount Plus wouldn’t work with pihole. I completely forgot it existed after the one time I tried to watch something on it and had to immediately cancel my subscription
Perez
Mexican fans will pay to see a Mexican driver in a possibly race winning car.
Once Perez is gone there will be a huge drop in the popularity of F1 in Mexico. It’s part of why RBR still hasn’t dropped him. The marketing advantage of him in Mexico and Latin America is such a huge sales driver that they don’t want to give that up.
Nah, I just enjoy cars and (legal) racing.
I’m never going to be interested in an EV. They’re boring, soulless creations that don’t interest me as an enthusiast. They’re great commuter vehicles, but that’s where their use ends. ICE is always going to be preferred by car people.
I don’t have a place to charge at home, nor a way to run a cord from my apartment to a car, so charging becomes a 20-30 minute ordeal instead of a 3 minute tank of gas on my way to work.
I regularly do 400+ mile trips in a day or two ( I’m a photographer ) and need to be able to quickly have range available in non major metro areas.
Since I live in an apartment overnight charging isn’t an option. So I’d still have to go places to charge, which takes significantly longer than stopping for gas.
Driving experince is subjective, but instant power with no real hp/torque curves makes driving really boring. There’s no response from the car, it’s just an On/Off toggle. There’s no real fun to driving it.
Yes the sound is a major part. I’ve got a very nice, valved exhaust system on my new car that adds a ton to how much fun the car is. Hearing the engine, how it responds and how the power is applied is a major part of the fun of driving.
If all you want is a car to get from point A to point B, an EV is completely fine, but as someone who genuinely enjoys cars and driving, EVs are boring and will 100% get you laughed out of most car shows.
At least for me the reasons are
- Lack of interest
- They're ridiculously Ugly
- Range (I’ve driven 1500 miles in the last 3 weeks)
- Driving Experience is worse (opinion, but still something I stand by)
- Charging
- Price
When I was looking at new cars an EV wasn’t even an option. I wanted a 2 door performance coupe and there isn’t anything even close to that in EVs, let alone on the used market. A 2014 Audi was a better choice in almost every metric beyond gas prices.
I have no issue with privacy, my issue is they’re using my creations and content to train the very thing they want to replace me with.
I don’t care if it’s a big tech company or some small independent developer, I don’t want my work used to create and train Ai models.
Reading the article proves your assumption wrong
Yes it is. You can be a pedantic a-hole all you want, but “hacking” includes phishing, social engineering and pretty much any other form of access control circumvention to the general public.
Edit:
Also from the article itself
A 'readme' file in the archive states that the threat actor used an exposed GitHub token to access the company's repositories and steal the data.
Exposed GitHub token is very likely someone messed up and either exposed a token or was victim to an attack that could pull the token. Those are not uncommon and have happened to a lot of companies.
Developers are notoriously bad at naming anything. Cybersecurity experts are generally developers.
“Hacking” is a catch all term for security breaches, including phishing to the general public.
- Traveling with children to foreign countries is a lot harder than with adults
- Entirely honestly some people have little to no desire to leave the US. I don’t think you could pay me to spend a week in east Asia, that’s just not my idea of fun.
- Disney is huge. There’s days worth of things to do, multiple parks and experiences directly marketed for kids (be that good or bad). You don’t even have to stay in the Disney ecosystem with places like legoland, universal studios and a bunch of other theme parks.
I gave up on doing this after a few weeks of multiple restarts per day. Until Linux can do everything Windows can (Adobe Products, Anti-Cheats, etc) I’m just stuck to windows 100% of the time.

Rallycross makes for some amazing pictures
This weekend I got the chance to shoot my first rallycross event. Despite literal inches of rain, it was some of the most fun I’ve had with a camera.

Trading Paints Credentials Leaked - CHANGE PASSWORDS
Hadn't seen this posted, but for anyone who uses Trading Paints in conjunction with iRacing you need to go in and change passwords NOW!
There was a leak of 270,000 accounts with emails/passwords in md5 format (easily reversible to plaintext)
If you use the service make sure to reset your passwords asap and if you use the password shared on other services you should make sure to change it as well
iRacing 1440 minutes (24hours) of Le Mans
Anyone want to run the 24 hour race at Le Mans in iRacing this weekend?
Don't currently have an endurance team and just realized the race is coming up quick. Not super fast (like we know from the league), but pretty consistent and know the track/car well.
I'd prefer the LMP2, but could drive a GTE too. Only requirement is a C class license and the track/car.
We're a little sparse on Rig Posts, so here's mine!
Rig is a NLR F-GT. It's handled everything I've thrown at it so far, but it's struggling to keep up. The Seat on this rig has been ripped up by my cat, so a sweatshirt and a towel have gone into service covering up the very ripped leather. I plan on replacing the seat soon, so hopefully won't have that problem for more than another year or so.
Wheelbase is a VRS DFP. It's amazing and I love it. Packs quite a punch and does really try to rip your arms off at full FFB. This is paired with a CubeControls QR (Also known as the aliexpress one) and an Ascher F64-USB.
Pedals are also the VRS Pedals. Currently I only have 2 installed, but I do have the optional 3rd clutch that isn't mounted right now. The pedal plate flexes a lot more than I'd like, even with the additional strengthening kit from NLR.
Rig is a dedicated sim PC with a 11900K, RTX 3080 and 32GB of RAM. Triple 32 inch 1440p/144hz monitors round out the setup, mounted to a Rigmetal Monitor Stand.
I also have a Polsimer F74 that is no longer in use and a NLR GT Rim for if I need a round rim.
I'm happy to answer any querstions!
LEMMY iRACING LEAGUE

There'll be an extra session 2 hours before the race for anyone who may need help. Please reach out via DM if you need any help with any of it.
Hope to see you all there!
Lemmy iRacing Scheduling Poll and Joining the League
In interest of scheduling I'd be looking at a 3 week league with races on Aug 5, Aug 12 and Aug 19, with a possible extra round on Aug 26 Please select ALL timeslots that you would be available. If you have another timeslot please suggest it in the Lemmy comments
Hey all,
Sorry about the google forum, it's set not to collect any info, but we all know how much info that still means google will grab.
I think that due to the spread of timezones interested we should plan to run the races on the weekend. They'd take ~30-45 minutes (Race length to be decided later) but shouldn't take more than an hour and a half maximum.
Please select any timeslots that you're available for, we'll choose the one that the most people can make.
To join the League you'll need to Search for the "Lemmy iRacing League", currently with id 10017. The correct one will link back to https://lemmy.ml/c/simracing as the website link. Request to join and I'll accept any incoming join requests.
Is there interest in a Lemmy iRacing league?
When reading through some of the other comments on the page, I noticed there's a good number of people who at least have an iRacing subscription. Would there be any interest in a 1 month long, free content only league? It would allow people to try the sim for a minimum cost if they're interested.
A 3 week mini championship with the MX-5 Cup, Formula Ford and Street Stocks could make for a lot of fun.
I'd be happy to organize and cover hosting costs if we can get 5/10 people interested
Edit: 5 Interested, I’ll put a poll together later and we can look at running this for the month of august.
