The first knitted socks I ever truly loved
  • Oof. Socks are generally not considered a beginner's project, I'm afraid. Turning the heel and stitching the toe together at the end are easier done once you have a bit of comfort with what you're doing. You don't have to be an expert, though; even a couple of dishcloths could get you well on your way.

  • This shit sucks and is hard
  • I really hate that you're dealing with this. Having to fight to get doctors to listen to you is fucking exhausting. Having to prioritize a list of problems that all suck because you only have the energy to deal with one or maybe two is fucking exhausting. It just doesn't stop. 🤬

  • For the first time one of my doctors acted immediately upon something without question
  • I've been on Cymbalta for years with no problems. If I had an odd reaction during the first month or after six months or so, I could understand. After years though, same company generic, just seems unlikely to me. 😕

  • I've been wondering how you were doing. Hopefully this will help something at least! I finally got to see the movement disorder specialist and he decided my muscle tremors were a side effect from medication. That I've been on for years and haven't changed recently. bangs head against wall Back to square zero! I really hope this works out for you. Keep us posted.

  • My spinal tap just made my pain worse a few weeks back
  • Holy shit, my friend. I don't fall but sometimes I get the strangest sensation when walking, like the certainty that I'm doing Walking wrong somehow and what I'm doing is Not How Walking Is Supposed To Work. If that makes any sense at all.

When I tense up, I tend to notice when I reach the point of my back is arched up as high as I physically can. I've literally changed position from normal laying on my back to what it looks like when you see someone get hit with a defib on tv. Without even being aware of it. Stupid muscles.

Percocet was my jam when I was going through chemo. I think I was probably high about 90% of the time for a full six months, which was infinitely better than chemo pain. I'm taking gabapentin 600 now, mostly just to control the pain from my sciatic nerve. I did a steroid epidural last year which knocked out that pain completely for a solid year, but now that it's worn off my spinal surgeon doesn't want to do another one until we find out what else is going on. I understand that, but also pain! Ugh.

You're super young to have all this going on. I'm almost twice your age. I hope they get some answers for you soon and a reasonable pain management solution. Have you tried pot? Idk what the laws are like where you are. I have my medical card so I can get it, but it's all out of pocket because insurance won't cover it. It has helped me some, but it's hit or miss.

  • Omg. I've never come across someone else with my same weird body shit. I'm about to pick your brain.

The full body twitches. What the hell is that‽ It started with just my legs and only when laying down. At this point it's gone to my entire body, when I'm relaxed. Not to be confused with when I suddenly realize that every muscle is super tense. I've done scans of my entire back, normal other than two degenerate discs. Blood work, normal. Thyroid, normal. Nerve conduction tests, normal. I have an appointment with a movement disorder specialist next month. Wtf is this? Or anything I should specifically check for? I'm so damn tired of going from one doctor to another to get the same damn answer: they don't know.

I'm really sorry the spinal tap has put you in hell.

  • Driving with Jesus
  • Jesus looks like a woman with stick on facial hair and the hands of Emperor Palpatine. The driver looks like Bruce Campbell with a smaller chin. I feel like this means I should put down the phone and go to bed.

  • I wish people would write some descriptions for their communities
  • I remember when rec.arts.disney split. There was the voting process whether to split as well as a vote to how it would split, if I remember correctly. I hadn't thought about that in years.

Alt was the free for all. I learned a lot on alt.atheism, including how threads devolve into chaos and when to walk away.

Thanks fubo, I feel super old now.

  • How do you call the item after the next (counting from now), and the one after that, and so on, in a sequence that started in the past?
  • There's not a specific name for it in the way you're thinking. If you're looking at object A, then object B is next. One could say that object C is "the one after that," but it's also just as common to say third. Anything larger than two (for this one and next) gets unwieldy and English just uses the number. It wouldn't be the next 100th, simply the 100th. Spoken aloud, the "one" is dropped and it's said as "the hundredth." Usually, that is. You wouldn't be incorrect in adding "the" because English likes to make up its own rules.
