  • It's worth noting for everyone who might be reading this that blood on your toilet paper is 99.9% of the time from hemorrhoids or wiping too much, not from colon cancer. You're looking for dark stool and all these other symptoms, not a tiny amount of bright red blood on your toilet paper.

  • This applies to both sides...
  • I think people on the left love Bernie because there aren't a lot of terrible skeletons in his closet. There are still a TON of things that Bernie could do that would make me dislike him and not support him. There is almost nothing Trump could do that would make a Trump supporter dislike him and not support him. That's the difference.

In other words, admiring someone for their ideals and action is not the same as unconditionally supporting them. No politician deserves the latter.

  • Anon quits their job
  • When I was in grad school I knew a guy who just simply didn't teach for half the semester. No contact with students, no classes held, just didn't show. He gave everyone a passing grade on the midterm and came back halfway through. No explanation. He was not fired. Of course, like the rest of us, he was grossly underpaid and didn't have health insurance. I guess they get what they get if they're gonna treat us like cogs, right?

  • Craaaawling in my skiiin
  • Music being subjective doesn't imply all music is equally good or that everyone's opinion is equally correct. There are still bad opinions. Saying Linkin Park is worth listening to is a bad opinion

  • Bad taste then, bad taste now. No development or change in perspective. If this is you, you should be disappointed in yourself. Grow as you age.

Edit: hahaha people did NOT like this comment. They're BAD, guys. Whiny, cringey, melodramatic. It's music for a 12 year old.

  • How do I stop a 'planned future' from blindly determining my life's path?
  • This happened to me. I got a PhD and expected to be able to get a tenure track job in academia. Sure, it's hard. But it wouldn't be me that failed at it, right? Wrong. Three years later, no job, scraping by on adjunct work.

I went back to law school. Sometimes you have to redefine your life in a way that gives you new opportunities. Does it still hurt that I couldn't get my dream job? Yeah, but I have a lot of good I can do for the world in other ways, and I'm not going to let that dream's death prevent me from doing it.
