Our allies may never forgive us. Anti-American forces, on the other hand, are giddy.
  • Don't forget this either:

We weren't some benevolent force for good in WW2. People love pointing it out as if we proactively fought for good.

The Axis thankfully committed the greatest strategic blunder of the 20th century hands down and sunk our Naval fleet. They brought the fight to us. The US was quite fond of eugenics and practiced it in asylum before and after WW2.

We fought back. That isn't being a hero, that isn't coming to save the day. That's self-preservation.

The closest we've ever been to the good guys was at our founding, and even that was complicated.

  • Collapse
  • The difference is at least China as far as Eastern powers (fuck Russia) seems to plan for there being a future, regardless of their methods. They invest heavily in infrastructure and education, and I don't mean mega yachts and private schools for their elite. They invest in their people.

With the US both leading and coercing the charge (the one silver lining I see in Trump is that any influence we had born of respect or goodwill is dead, and we're a terrible influence), we've been sabotaging anyfuture to goose the next quarterly metastasis call to feed our sociopath profiteers at every conceivable human cost including blood.

Tolerance of Individual enrichment over collective good is dooming our species, not to mention a lot of surface life we don't give a shit about that are completely innocent. No major power is without corruption, but if ends matter, if our species having any future is any priority, the US and those it's successfully infected with its greed disease ain't it.

  • Trump announces task force to ‘eradicate anti-Christian bias’
  • Too bad they won't address all the "Christians" that make it their mission to live drunk on cruelty and schaudenfreude.

If being Christian has anything to do with honoring and following the tenets of Jesus of Nazareth as written in the New Testament, there isn't a single Christian in the Republican party.

They use Jesus like a mask or totem to be on "I win morality" base while almost exclusively advocating inhuman atrocities like destroying families and doing the opposite of everything in their supposed own book they've clearly never read.

It's not like they try but fall short either. This isn't no true Scotsman, all they do is hate. When is the last time you've seen a Republican express love for anyone that wasn't rooted in angering (hating) their innumerable enemies? Is Jesus not love?

  • Ocasio-Cortez says if you feel burnt out by the news lately, that’s ‘exactly’ what Trump wants
  • That's both party's strategy since Reagan got his former opposition on the take.

Thats what both parties are bribed for.

Stoke social issue wedges and protect our oligarchs grift economy from us.

You can have scapegoating and oligarchal exploitation or affirmation ribbons and oligarchal exploitation. That has been the extent of our voter's power for half a century.

Im glad the Dems support trans rights, and vote for them as harm reduction, but don't pretend DNC neoliberal democrats give a shit about a poor Trans person's right not to die in an underpass of exposure for the crime of being poor as a warning to the other poors. Both parties defend this class occupation.

  • AOC says she's worth less than $500,000 after kickback claims — and seems to get kudos from Trump fans in response
  • Nancy Pelosi dedicated the month before Trump was inaugurated to ensuring AOC, a spoiler leftist in a sea of her crony neoliberals, didn't get an oversight committee seat.

Neoliberals Democrats hate actual leftwing politicians far more than they hate their fascist opposition party. Makes sense, Fascists and neoliberals have the same bosses and take the same bribe checks.

  • AOC says she's worth less than $500,000 after kickback claims — and seems to get kudos from Trump fans in response
  • Good thing I don't have that.

If I did, I'd help protect the system when the molitovs start flying at it like a good house slave, I hope to assist when it isn't just me, as that would just be suicide by cop.

This isn't class war, this is 50 years of class occupation and counting. Peaceful positive change has been made impossible here on multiple levels by the owners. I put my hope in the other thing, as that's the only rational place left to put it.

  • AOC says she's worth less than $500,000 after kickback claims — and seems to get kudos from Trump fans in response
  • The DNC would murder her if she broke through their primary defenses and got close enough.

They're fine with losing, the pendulum is part of the grift, what they aren't fine with is losing their half of that bipartisan oligarch gravy train. Our capitalists don't bribe both parties to have those parties stand against economic metastasis at all human cost.

We can have affirmation ribbons and be sucked dry by the oligarchs, or we can have scapegoating and be sucked dry by the oligarchs, that is the extent of our "freedom." Reagan and Kemp saw to that by getting their former opposition on the take.

  • Randomly found this on Reddit
  • Capitalism destroyed our government, captured our constitution, and is literally ending the world (for humans, don't worry it'll be fine in a few million years and it'll be like we never existed, thank goodness for that).

I find comedy in people likely here due to the greed rot of Spez wanting to go public and now fondling billionaire balls still, here on Lemmy like digital refugees in the wake of capitalism breaking promises to and destroying a community to increase private profit, going "ewww commies and socialists."

Credit where it's due, the capitalist's Orwell game is God tier.

  • Protesters in cities across the US rally against Trump’s policies, Project 2025 and Elon Musk
  • Phone banked for Sanders on two campaigns, and got laughed at instead of supported by neoliberals at Occupy Wall Street, and even then it was decades too late to reign in the capitalists short of revolution, though I realized that in hindsight.

Both parties are captured, this country is captured by the same global oligarchs ending the world for short term ego scores. The capitalists own this country and this constitution. If you can't accept that, you are deluded.

If we're not yet willing to blue shell Wall Street, then get comfortable in this hell. Trying to prop up another neoliberal next cycle is the definition of rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. And yes I voted for her to attempt harm reduction despite knowing we don't get a real vote on our economic oppression.

Nothing can change for the better until the capital markets are ash. And they will be within the next 50 years one way or another. Humans can do it, or capitalist enforced climate change will do it if we fail to. The former means humanity might be able to still have a future, the latter means we won't and didn't deserve to.

The enemy has cut out their middlemen middle manager, revolving door, well bribed, bipartisan politicians. Our owners keeping us complacent have dropped the veil of pretending the Government isn't their sock puppet as it has been since Reagan. It's not big red. It's not big blue. It's big green demanding military action and imperialism for profit as they burn the world. Voting has become about nothing more than voicing which other powerless peasants we hate, it doesn't effect the Wall Street sociopaths. Divide and profit.

  • Boeing Has Lost a Staggering Amount of Money on Its Starliner Catastrophe
  • If you have sympathy for capitalists at this point, you're a beaten dog who can't tell up from down.

This administration is brought to you by the capitalist coup that started under Reagan. Boeing is in no danger. They're too big to fail, and despite their propaganda, capitalists don't give a shit about market forces determining winners and losers, they use both of their purchased parties to ensure their duopolies will stay in power at the peasant's expense as per usual.

"Trust us on this!" -Capitalists who would kill any of us for an extra nickel

Turns out, when the elite of society works against their own people to enrich themselves, the (rational) people realize they owe you neither trust or allegiance. Can't have it both ways.

Nothing wrong with a little competition, amirite?

200,000 Wall Street Jobs May Be Slashed By Artificial Intelligence

Sociopath greedy fucks fucked by their own sociopathic greed pushing tech explicitly hyped to cause mass unemployment. You first, finance bros! Welcome to the "capitalist efficiency" games you were so fond of running 🤣

Turns out you made a career out of felating oligarch dick, expecting romance, but they'd rather keep your class traitor salary and kick you to the curb. Guess you chose to keep poor company.

Hit the enemy where it hurts, GDP

In light of Vivek's comments that Americans don't pursue excellence, pursue excellence at reducing GDP through workplace laziness and negligence(that causes loss, not injury), anticonsumerism, and reminding others that products/services used to be better so why bother buying them new now?

"won't that effect my quality of life?"

They've been steadily reducing your quality of life, forcing 2 incomes for survival, and are literally conning and murdering you through health insurance and food safety abandonment.

    Make Greed Contemptible Again.

    Just stop having kids

Or they'll blame you for roping them into this exploitative shitshow with a side of climate apocalypse, and they'll be correct.

And no, the 6.134258 shares of Apple in your 401K don't make you an owner, lol.

    To those patients... It matters...

At least for a few months, if we fail to turn the moment into a movement and they do it anyway.

But for today, fewer patients will be billed life ruining sums after supposedly approved life saving surgery they were entitled to. Nothing can take that away from him. He made a difference.

Can the public expect to get to see Luigi Mangione's 3 page manifesto in its entirety in a reasonable timeframe?

All I've been able to find are cherry picked words and sentences the police tell the press in both's attempts to spin it for their narratives.

Is it foolish to hope the public will get to read it in its relative entirety (a word or a name redacted is understandable, not entire paragraphs) in less than years or decades?

Legal process is a blindspot for me, I don't know what they're able to have as evidence that they can also keep from the public eye if they wish.

    41

Oh... is that what your corporate security detail is for? Passive resistance?

Guess the profiteers better stop making tools of violent death to wage oil wars and sell to world governments then... Oh but that would tank our beloved economy! 😱

South Korea's President Yoon to lift martial law declaration

SEOUL, Dec 4 (Reuters) - South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol said on Wednesday he would move to lift a martial law declaration he had imposed just hours before, honoring a parliamentary vote against the measure. Yoon declared martial law on Tuesday to thwart "anti-state forces" among his opponents. But outraged lawmakers rejected the decree, as protesters gathered outside parliament in the country's biggest political crisis in decades. Yoon's surprise declaration, which he cast as aimed at his political foes, was unanimously voted down by 190 lawmakers in the parliament. Under South Korean law, the president must immediately lift martial law if parliament demands it by a majority vote. His own party urged him to lift the decree. The crisis in a country that has been a democracy since the 1980s, and is a U.S. ally and major Asian economy, caused international alarm.

Did I say mandatory? I meant optional! You're "free" to die in a cardboard box under a freeway as a market capitalist scarecrow warning to the other ants so they keep showing up to make us more!

Doing something that hurts other people less fortunate than you under the guise of it being "just business" makes you more of an antisocial sociopath, not less.

Would I hurt other people in some strange hypothetical to literally save my family's life from certain death? Maybe, and I'd be guilt ridden about it for the rest of my life.

Would I hurt people to make more money? Of course not, and that's not a defensible reason to hurt others... at all, and it makes you deeply broken at your core, especially as habit.

Really the only thing I can think of as a more horrifying reason to be cruel to others than "for money herp derp" would be "because its fun!"

Hurting others for profit in the name of business shouldn't be a defense, it should be considered an admission of guilt and come with consequences.
