It's almost like the system of "the first Tuesday in November" and "no you can't have off work" is stupid.
Most people only really care about 2-3 topics in a federal election. People pick the candidate that aligns with what they believe is important. In the 2 party system that almost never changes because each party has a somewhat unified set of beliefs.
Aren't weeks made up of days?
I think they're comparing the huge amount of computing power used for both AI and finding primes.
Sound byte starts at 48:20 for those who want to verify.

Hopefully they can find more rhythm now. And hopefully the new injuries aren't serious.

With old cars if the radio stopped working you'd go to the dealership/auto store and have it replaced. I think a lot of people would be fine having to go to a similar place for software fixes. Remote updates scare me. Rivian had an update earlier this year that blue screened the infotainment console on every car it went out to. It's not hard to believe a similar mixup could happen with a more important system.
What cloud based information could my physical car need to be operational? I know the shift to software defined cars means there is more relience on tech and the company that makes the car but what could they possibly be keeping server side? If it's needed to use the car what would happen if you drive the car somewhere there isn't wifi/cell service? Does the car just stop?
The one outside my local right-aid was hit by a car about 2 years ago. It's still sitting there all mangled and sad looking.
Some months have a prime number of days.
I don't think anyone should need to own a gun. But I also don't think owning a gun and talking about it makes you a "gun nut."

"We do these things not because they are easy. But because we are hard!" -JFK
In the USA it looks to be governed by the state or whomever owns the road (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speed_limits_in_the_United_States_by_jurisdiction). I've only ever seen minimum speed limits on highways.
It's illegal to cross the street some places
It was somewhat reassuring for the future that the USA can still have a "normal" debate and members of government. There was classic question dodging and some over the top rhetoric but nothing that made me think one of the debaters might actually live in their own fantasy land with no concept of what government is. I tuned in for a few minutes and it was boring in a good way.
In NJ you are allowed to bump the curb when parallel parking but not allowed to go up on the curb. Getting bumped by a car hurts a lot.
The Price of Coffee: Results
A follow up to my survey posted last week. Thank you to everyone who responded. Hope you enjoy. I have some ideas on how I could follow up on this with additional surveys, so if you want to see more let me know.
I was inspired by Hoffman's survey on the state of espresso to create my own survey about the price of coffee. I grew up thinking all coffee was the same then I had "good" coffee and realized it was worth it to pay more. Please take a moment to respond, if I get enough data I'll post the results and findings.
Modified Monday
Added a pressure gauge, pump dimmer switch, upgraded steam wand, and sawed off portafilter to my cheap DeLonghi a while ago. Works good enough and definitely learned a lot about how espresso machines work. Let me know if you'd be interested in a guide on how to perform the pressure gauge dimmer switch mod.
Do people actually like milk drinks?
Latte art is all the rage for social media, but do people order them for the taste or just the clout? At home I find steaming milk annoying and then it just feels like I'm sitting down to a glass of hot milk when I'm finally done. What are other people's thoughts? Do you like milk drinks? Do you make them at home?
Trouble Finding J2
I have J1 down, completely remote, only requires 4 hours of actual work on a bad day, max 2 meetings a week. But I have had a lot of trouble finding a J2.
For some background I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering and have worked as an software engineer for the last 3 years, mostly focused on thermodynamic simulations. I've been looking on Indeed and LinkedIn for remote positions but it feels like I've exhausted what they have. Does anyone have any other good sites for remote jobs?
looking for advise on pouring slc
I'm planning on pouring self leveling concrete on top of my concrete block porch. I'm looking for any tips/trick on how to pour slc. I'm planning on sealing the cracks beforehand with spray foam/caulk and using concrete primer.
