10 Years Later, This Is Still the Most Ridiculous Thing Adult Swim Has Ever Aired: "Too Many Cooks"
  • Literally any clip or quite from it I've ever seen makes me SO mad because they're SO WEIRD and also REALLY good??

I've seen a net 7.5 minutes worth of that show and I'm pissed about it but I have to admit.... They were onto something.

  • if you quit a job you didn't like or was toxic, didn't the financial hit scare you?
  • I feel like everyone deserves at least one job related "fuck you" style moral victory in their lives and that qualifies for sure.

For me it was when the WORST manager I have ever had called me back a year after I quit to ask me to come work for her again and got to laugh in her face and tell her I'd have happily accepted half the pay at her place to scrub toilets as long as it wasn't working with her, but instead I was making double what she paid me to do my dream job.

I've never done cocaine, BUT I'm pretty sure I know what it feels like.

    • Take boxed cake mix of your choosing.
    • MOSTLY follow the package instructions. However:
    • Add one extra egg (for example, if it calls for 2 eggs use 3)
    • Substitute oil with 2x butter (for example, if the recipe asks for ⅓ cup oil use ⅔ cup melted butter.)
    • Simple, easy, pro-tier cake.
  • We're probably not the only ones running outdated software
  • Holy shit I'm involved in a similar situation - except we really, REALLY want it gone - it's just a game of "if you give a mouse a cookie" trying to upgrade all the similarly fragile downstream stuff so we don't blow up the entire operation when we switch.

  • Injectable goo could fix joints without surgery, early study suggests
  • I have a sibling who grew up having 10+ major reconstructive joint surgeries due to congenital issues. That kept them out of a wheelchair, but they were recently told by their current specialist "if you make it to 35 without needing a hip replacement, you and I will high five" (verbatim).

    This would be HUGE.

  • What should I know about using a wheelchair for the first time?
  • Fun fact: even "regular style" crutches are not actually supposed to rest in your armpits! You are supposed to hold onto the arm portion and use them similarly to the above crutches. When we adjusted that for the spouse, we had to shorten the crutches by like 2-3 inches and he said it was WAY more comfortable.

There are some videos on YouTube by physiotherapists etc that were supremely helpful - recommend giving them a quick watch and readjusting your crutches.

Source: spouse recently broke the hell out of his foot and also Had Shit To Do™.

  • In Canada, A&W has cheaper prices for WAY better quality food. It was a few years back we were enjoying some "as a treat" and realized it was not just significantly better than McD's, but also much cheaper, and we decided we just weren't going back.

My household is partial to a couple of chicken buddy burgers in a time crunch.

  • What Daniel Radcliffe has said as JK Rowling said she will ‘not forgive’ him and he can ‘save his apology’
  • I was at a relatively large chain bar this weekend and that's how it was - one long normal halfway for the bathrooms with rows of normal doors on each side for "stalls". They also used those toilets that have the sink in the top.

It was AWESOME, especially as a lady in a bar setting. Felt much more public and protected in the ways that matter (well lit shared hallway with lots of visibility and traffic) and private and secure in the ways that mattered. Especially with the sink and mirror also in the room, it was so nice to take a second to freshen up without trying to get out of there ASAP or worrying about dealing with some belligerent drunk wandering into the wrong bathroom on accident (BTW, much larger issue than "fake" trans women).

Loved it. 10/10 no notes. Everyone should do this.

Edit to add - it was also really nice from a disability standpoint, I think! Partner recently injured himself in an awkward manner, and it was MUCH less awkward helping him get situated in that setup - there was just the one shared handicap stall and it was right at the front, and no one batted an eye at me helping him all the way to it. No awkward walk past the urinals, haha.

On that note I also think that would be a killer setup with kids - no taking your "slightly-too-young-to-be-alone daughter" into the men's room, no following her into the women's room, and vice-versa. Good stuff.
