[adult swim] - lemm.ee

Hi, not sure if this is the right place to ask. But I noticed [email protected] only has one mod and they appear to be inactive. I can help mod it (rather than have it shut down). Thanks.

Is "pin a post" (acting as a mod) currently available on lemm.ee?

I've looked through the history of threads in this help community, but didn't see this Q come up before.

I also notice someone saying on another instance that as a mod, it's indeed possible to pin by clicking the three dots under the thread / post. I even see an open github issue discussing cross-instance problems with pinning posts.

Still, here on this instance, it doesn't currently seem possible to pin in either of my two communities. If it were, I'd want to pin this welcoming post, for example.

EDIT: Thanks to @[email protected] for the solution-- it's as simple as going in to a thread, clicking the "three dots" in options, then clicking again "community" with the little pin symbol.

High ping from Spain?

Hello,

I enjoy this instance a lot, thank you so much for this. However, I noticed it is quite slower than other instances I'm used to. I had a look at that ping tool, and it seems that the ping to Spain is unusually high compared to the rest of Europe: https://check-host.net/check-ping?host=lemm.ee

Is there anything you could do to improve this? Thank you so much!

Liftoff App for Android is not able to find the lemm.ee instance

Like the title already mentioned, when I try to login in the liftoff app, the app is unable to finde this instance (lemm.ee) and additionally mentions that kbin instances are not supported yet

Can't find and subscribe to 82 communities

[Solution] What helped the most: Searching for full external URL. Don't search for 'Communities', search for 'All'. Example URL: https://instance.com/c/communityname Search for this, wait a couple of seconds, search again.

Hello, I just registered on lemm.ee today and tried to import my subscriptions. I know these communities exist, but they don't show up when I'm trying to visit them through lemm.ee.

Some examples:

  • https://lemm.ee/search/q/!nachrichten%40discuss.tchncs.de/type/All/sort/TopAll/listing_type/All/community_id/0/creator_id/0/page/1
  • https://lemm.ee/search/q/!nasa%40lemmy.ml/type/All/sort/TopAll/listing_type/All/community_id/0/creator_id/0/page/1
  • https://lemm.ee/search/q/!science%40lemmy.glasgow.social/type/All/sort/TopAll/listing_type/All/community_id/0/creator_id/0/page/1

lemm.ee is federated with all of them. I also checked the other side (except for kbin, don't know where to find that information on kbin). lemmy.ml and discuss.tchncs.de are federated with us. I could subscribe to some other communities hosted on these instances. https://lemmy.glasgow.social/instances might be an exception, I never saw an instance page like that.

Subscribing generally works, I successfully subscribed to about 230 communities from various instances.

Most of the 82 communities from my wishlist are probably from instances which are federated in both directions. I tried reloading the search, switching between 'Community' and 'All', to no avail.

Any ideas what might be wrong, what I could do?
