Two asteroids were named this time relating to the manga: Quro, the artist, and Hoshizaki, the high school in the manga. They were discovered by the COIAS team, the app which allows users to help identify asteroids from images from the Subaru Telescope, and which itself is named after the manga. They have previously identified the asteroid Ao, named after the main character of the manga.

This occurred in Brevard, FL. The complaint was lodged by a member of the community. From the article:

The most insane part of this to me is that the chair of the school board also took aim at the right to left reading direction of the series (you know, like every other manga in existence) as well as it including a romantic relationship (like the vast majority of fiction):

Context: In the past year there were pressure from VISA and Mastercard on shops selling content that can be considered adult; several sites tried to appease them by imposing restrictions on creators, but ultimately VISA and Mastercard stopped doing business with them (or vice versa), thus stopping those shops' ability to accept those forms of payment.

DL.Getchu.com is a Japanese shopping site for doujin manga, and was one of the shops that stopped (or was forced to stop) taking VISA and Mastercard. (Others shops include Toranoana, DLsite, FANZA doujin etc.)

People were concerned about these issues' impact on the freedom of expression. Several days ago, Japanese Senator Yamada Taro went to VISA HQ and confronted executives there. According to him, he was told (machine translation from the news article) "VISA headquarters does not make value judgments on the content handled by each site, etc., and if it does, it is at the site*. VISA also reported that it has never instructed them to stop handling content that contains specific terms (keywords)."

*at the site: the Japanese word used was 現場, on-site where the action happens, as opposed to far away in the back office or executive suite. Meaning if such judgments happened, it was done by somebody far lower and removed from HQ, or so they claimed.

A few days later, DL.Getchu.com announced that it will accept VISA again. It is unknown if it is related to the above, or if other sites will follow suit at this time.

One of Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken’s spinoff manga, The Ways of the Monster Nation, is cancelled after being on hiatus for over three years, due to health issues of the artist.

> When I first saw this was a prequel, I thought it was going to be about the original journey with Himmel and Co. However, it seems like it will instead be a series of short stories about different characters prior to their joining the main Frieren narrative (Frieren, Fern, Stark, Lawine, Kanne, Aura are ones I found listed).

No word on an official English release unfortunately.

I am looking forward to this one returning. Hopefully the author's health is a lot better now and the slower release schedule will be more sustainable.
