So, What Happened to the WrestleMania Main Event Picture? The Rock

PWInsider.com is told this wasn’t done to target and politic Cody out of his main event out of malice, but out of the belief that Johnson was the best idea to make money now and respect his new position with the company’s parent company. This was a strategic move to give Johnson more political power overall and to show Endeavor’s faith in his involvement and that even Paul Levesque, who has done an admirable job as the Chief Creative Officer, would "lose that power struggle with Johnson at this point", as one source surmised.

VINCE MCMAHON RESIGNS FROM TKO, WWE

“I stand by my prior statement that Ms. Grant’s lawsuit is replete with lies, obscene made-up instances that never occurred, and is a vindictive distortion of the truth. I intend to vigorously defend myself against these baseless accusations, and look forward to clearing my name. However, out of respect for the WWE Universe, the extraordinary TKO business and its board members and shareholders, partners and constituents, and all of the employees and Superstars who helped make WWE into the global leader it is today, I have decided to resign from my executive chairmanship and the TKO board of directors, effectively immediately."

Edit: Nick Khan statement to Employees:

"I wanted to inform you that Vince McMahon has tendered his resignation from his positions as TKO Executive Chairman and on the TKO Board of Directors. He will no longer have a role with TKO Group Holdings or WWE."

Answering Some of Your Vince Mcmahon Lawsuit Questions

> > > Some notes regarding the Vince McMahon and WWE lawsuit that was filed yesterday by former WWE employee Janel Grant based on questions PWInsider.com has received over the last 24 hours: > > > > \*Jerry McDevitt was Vince McMahon's attorney for the NDA with Grant but no longer represents McMahon and has all but retired, so for those who asked, McDevitt would not be defending McMahon or even WWE here. McDevitt has not represented McMahon since he made the decision to come out his WWE retirement. > > > > \*In something that sounds absolutely insane, the NDA for Grant included a clause that if she needed a reference for future employment from WWE, she was directed to go to John Laurinaitis for the reference, which given the allegations in the suit, is mind-blowing, to say the least. > > > > \*One allegation in the lawsuit was that Grant claimed that no one spoke to her or utilized any documentation she had during the WWE Board of Directors investigation into Vince McMahon. PWInsider.com is told that investigation was conducted by a third-party, not WWE itself. > > > > \*While the Wall Street Journal has surmised the WWE talent Grant mentions in her lawsuit is Brock Lesnar, Lesnar is never named in the suit and is not a defendant in the lawsuit. > > > > \*WWE has not made, as of this writing, any internal statement to their employees about The Wall Street Journal article. The prevous WSJ articles all led to either a company meeting or a statement that was issued privately. Thus far, that has not been the case. As you can imagine, a lot of employees we've spoken to were really upset and disgusted with the allegations. > > > > \*As TKO Group Holding noted in their statement yesterday, Vince McMahon is not involved in the day to day operations of WWE anymore. As we have noted many times here during audio discussions in the Elite section, his current position is more of a ceremonial title at this point. Nick Khan and Paul Levesque are overseeing the company. > > > > \*It is not known whether TKO could force Vince McMahon to step down from his position as Executive Director of the TKO Board of Directors. The question to be answered is whether there is a morals clause in McMahon's contract with TKO and whether that could be a factor in his status going forward. > > > > \*There has been no public acknowledgment that the federal investigation into McMahon has ever closed, so yes, that is something that could come to the surface again, as far as anyone knows. > > > > \*The story has gotten a lot of attention and we are told that a lot of media outlets are starting work on their own coverage. The New York Times covered the story this morning. All the major entertainment trade publications covered it. The story won't go away overnight. > > > > \*Court records indicate that as of this morning, WWE, Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis all have yet to be served with the lawsuit. > >

Kevin Dunn Exiting WWE

Dunn, who held the post of Executive Producer & Chief, Global Television Distribution, informed WWE around Christmas week he was exiting after more than three decades with the company. We are told that a big factor in his decision to retire is changes made internally post-Endeavor acquisition and as one source stated, that Dunn was "never going to do anything that was dictacted" to him, as opposed to how he personally oversaw production in the past. We are told this was not an issue of creative but two differing versions of how things should be run from a TV production perspective as WWE's new owner seeks to cut costs.

WWE has since confirmed the news.

HEALTH UPDATE ON KYLE O'REILLY FOLLOWING NECK FUSION SURGERY

> > > "I had my neck fused last September to fix some nerves that had gotten themselves compressed somehow. I’m sure a career of landing on my head for a living played a role but sadly we’ll never know. Regardless, I had been in pain and losing strength in my right arm for some time and no amount of tape or denial could delay my surgery any longer. > > > > Unfortunately, I suffered from a rare post-surgical complication and suddenly I couldn’t move my arm at all. “C5 palsy” the doctor said, and “nerves take a long time to heal.” So I was left to be patient and test my perseverance. > > > > Needless to say it was disheartening to relearn activities like brushing my teeth and wiping my ass with my left hand. My career wasn’t in question any longer, it was my quality of life. But focusing on what I could control every day kept me sane, such as being the best father I could possibly be. Every other moment has been spent rehabbing, dry needling and training. > > > > A few months ago I discovered the Neubie device @neufitrfp an electric stim machine that runs on direct current akin to the human nervous system. The machine has many terrific uses but specializes in helping those with post-surgical neurological injuries. > > > > Within a month of using the Neubie I once again had full range of motion in my shoulder. My nerves are all online again and firing with enough power to get the dinosaurs back in their pens. > > > > Grateful for the support of my friends and fans over this last year and to the Neubie device and my trainer @unconventional\_strength and diet coach @thediabeticfighter for not only giving me back my quality of life but for getting me closer to my ultimate goal; a return to the ring. > > > > The wrestling ring has felt like an oasis in the desert for me these last 12 months. I know if I keep walking I’ll eventually reach it but I don’t know if it’ll just disappear when I get there like a mirage. I’m so parched, all I want to do is get to the oasis and drink to quench my thirst but I have to be careful or I’ll trip in the sand or collapse from the heat. I guess that’s why this is taking so long, patience and perseverance. > > > > The good news is I can see the oasis now, it’s definitely not a mirage." > >

'Heels' cancelled by STARZ

> > > Members of the cast and crew were informed over the weekend that Starz's pro wrestling drama Heels has been canceled and will not be renewed for a third season. This is not surprising as the viewership was extremely low this season, despite the series' excellent storylines and acting. It was absolutely a victim of the SAG-AFTRA strike, which kept the actors from promoting the series, as well as the long delay between seasons one and two due to Lionsgate and STARZ separating, which also killed the momentum after the first season. > > > > "Heels" was a story about the men and women who chase their dreams in the world of small-town pro wrestling. Set in a close-knit Georgia community, it follows a family-owned wrestling promotion as two brothers and rivals, Jack Spade (Stephen Amell, “Arrow”) and Ace Spade (Alexander Ludwig, “Vikings”), are at war over their late father’s legacy while working to find their identity and their individual versions of success.. > > > > This season also starred Alison Luff (“New Amsterdam”) as Staci Spade, Mary McCormack (“Deep Impact,” “The L Word”) as Willie Day, Kelli Berglund (“The Goldbergs,” “The Animal Kingdom”) as Crystal Tyler, Allen Maldonado (House Party, “The Wonder Years,” “The Last O.G.”) as Rooster Robbins, Chris Bauer (“Gaslit,” “Survivor’s Remorse,” and “True Blood”) as Wild Bill Hancock, Trey Tucker (“The Outpost”) as Bobby Pin, Robby Ramos (“Chicago P.D.”) as Diego Cottonmouth, Alice Barrett Mitchell (“The Thing About Pam,” “Billions”) as Carol Spade, and Roxton Garcia (“Reminiscence”) as Thomas Spade, David James Elliot (Trumbo, “JAG”) as Tom Spade, and Joel Murray (“Mad Men,” “Shameless”) as Eddie Earl. CM Punk (“Mayans,” “AEW Dynamite”) as Ricky Rabies, AJ Mendez (“Women of Wrestling,” “WWE”) as Elle Dorado, Josh Segarra (Scream VI, “Arrow,” “The Other Two”) as Brooks Rizzo, and Emmy Raver-Lampman as Jen Lussier. > > > > “Heels” showrunner and executive producer Mike O’Malley (“Survivor’s Remorse,” “Shameless”) also portrays Charlie Gully on the series. Michael Waldron (executive producer of “Loki,” Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and producer for “Rick and Morty”) is the series creator. Christopher Donnelly (By Sidney Lumet), Pete Segal (Get Smart, 50 First Dates, “Tommy Boy,” “Shameless”), Patrick Walmsley (JT LeRoy), and Julie Yorn (Hell or High Water, White Boy Rick) also serve as executive producers on the series. “Heels" is produced through O'Malley Ink and LBI Entertainment in association with Lionsgate Television for STARZ. > > > > If you get the chance, the series was absolutely worth watching, but now won't be able to resolve the cliffhanger that closed season two. > >

The Various Notes from WWE HQ Meeting Held on Monday

I paraphrased the stories and link to the originals.

Khan, HHH, Dunn, and Blum come out, Khan hypes and introduces McMahon. McMahon introduces his new boss Ari. Ari talks about wanting to be WWE's agent 20 years ago, mentions his daughter works for WWE. They pushed the merger as an evolution of the company. All execs except for Vince stayed and talked with employees.

PWInsider Story 1

Employees were allegedly unhappy about Vince claiming the company had hit a plateau because business was great after he was kicked out and if it hadn't been they would have let him back without him needing to force his way in and causing Stephanie to leave. Employees were sympathetic towards Stephanie and HHH.

Ari's reference to getting his daughter hired was jokey or serious depending on who you ask. His daughter has actually been an employee for "some time." Ari stayed and spoke with employees, as did the other execs, Vince left immediately though.

HHH did not speak from the stage. Vince was obviously still recovering, yes they served refreshments.

PWInsider Story 2 Vince used a cane to get up on the stage and to get to the podium. Vince played up he's "Vince, Damnit" and then forced them to clap for him, "this is when you're supposed to clap" and "you're learning" when they clapped.

Everything was filmed by a WWE crew. Execs came out from behind an old RAW set.

More On The Passing Of Bray Wyatt

TMZ.com is reporting Windham "Bray Wyatt" Rotunda passed away in his sleep during a nap last week. He was discovered by what the article described as his girlfriend (Jojo Offerman) and that his mother attempted CPR as the authorities were called.

Citing a police report, they also noted that Wyatt had been in the hospital the week before and had been advised to wear an external defibrilator to assist with his heart during a follow-up appointment with his doctors. The device was found in Rotunda's vehicle parked outside his home.
