This kind of rhetoric is actually supported by a lot of boomer age (read > 40) people and their children, grandchildren who were taught by these boomers.
If something went wrong in their career or life, they try to latch on to any explanation nearby. If it wasn't Muslims of Christians, it would be one who is considered lower caste; if it is not that then it would be the women in the family, ordered by how close their relationship is with said woman; if it was not a woman, it could be their timid sibling. If there are no gullible relatives, then it's finally astrology.
I guess the only people who did not drink this abusive koolaid are those who actually interacted with others and did not have ego growing up. For these people failure was ok, as it's part of life and may happen to anyone at any time.
Honestly i feel like something in the food or water or air (poisons like lead) has made an entire generation of the world fearful, bigoted, and lacking in critical thinking.
Asbestos, lead, micro plastics, BHA, PFAs, higher glycation rates leading to instability in both physical and mental health, growing up in polluted cities, screen time on the rise.
Certain aspects of modern life are creating conditions that lead many people to be anxious narcissists and conspiracy theorists. Everyone's isolated (not physically), everyone's paranoid and lonely. (I use everyone as a generalisation, clearly not everyone is like this, I would say 50ish% of people are)
