LFP - EDT - 5E - Online - Assault on gumdrop mountain - 5th level

Hey everyone, didn't see any posts here so I've decided to make my own. Haven't DM'd in a while but if I can get 3-5 people together I'd love to do a one shot.

We'll be playing:

Assault On Gumdrop Mountain: A Drug-Fueled Adventure for 5th Edition

Concept

A group of adventurers have been hired to climb a mountain of filth which has recently came into being, find out why, and hopefully put an end to this occurrence. In order to withstand the horror an alchemist has created a potent hallucinogen which turns the abhorrent into adorable, and sweet. Vast quantities of blood turn into orange soda lakes, flocks of maggots turn into red licorice bits, fecal fungus into cotton candy tufts, the ever present aroma of decaying corpses turns into a delicate sweet scent of pastries and jam, and black licorice turns red. The disgusting turned delicious. This makes the climb tolerable as the sights and scents are masked by this delicious delusion.

Info

This will be a fifth level adventure ran for adults using discord and owl bear rodeo. It'll likely take two sessions, and will likely be starting in two to three weeks. Once we get the players we will discuss date and time, likely a weekend after 6 EDT however. No racism, homophobia, etc. will be tolerated

This will not be a sexual game and I as the DM will not flirt with you as an NPC. All attempts will be shot down quickly, and harshly.

Homebrew must be vetted first but any official book is ok with me.Tashas, Unearthed arcana, etc. are all allowed

Applying

I'd like you to comment or message me your age, a little about you, experience (none required), character concept, what you like in a game, and favourite DND moment (if any)

Example: Hi, I'm sorrybookbroke a 23 year old Canadian guy. I've played DND for about 7 years, dming for quite a bit of that. I'm thinking of playing an artificer goblin named Ted. Ted does not know he is a goblin, and ignores all who try to explain this to him. In a game I like a fair amount of role play between characters with a healthy dose of combat.

(To clarify, I will only be dming, there will be no dmpc)

  • Hi, I’m amightybeard, a older than 23 USA guy. I’ve played DND for about 8 years, DM for about 10 different campaigns. I’m thinking of playing an urban druid human variant named Tom. Tom is roughly in his 50s, homeless, and likes to 'partake'. He's not much of a fighter. Most things can be talked out over a campfire. People watching is a good part of the day. I like role play and will use my old man voice. I like exploration and DMs who take my passive perception into account. Combat can be kind of boring, so if it's unavoidable combat heavy, I might pass.

    • Hey you sound like a pretty chill dude, and I like the character concept. I'd love to have you join. The doc does have quite a bit of combat though but I'm hoping to add some more interaction to the game this time around, as well as adding some alternative ways to end/avoid the encounters. I'd hate to scare you off but full disclosure if rolls go poorly there will be a large amount of combat, and even with good rolls there will still be a fair amount.

If you're still interested, my name on discord is birdrealist

  • Hello, I am Calibria, a 29 year old german 5e addict with a penchant for quirky characters, both mechanically and personality wise. I have played DnD for about 3 years now most of it in Westmarches format which I played and dmed a lot. I like character expression as well as problem solving the most, whether that be tackling complicated combat setups, layered intrigues, social situations or just flat out character problems. In summary, the more that can be done by both sides, the more fun I'll have.

My favorite moment was a heartfelt conversation in which my tortle warlock realized that his friends can accept him even if some of his actions need to be reprehensible, and that there is always a modicum of control he can take of his destiny.

I have several character concepts that I am fond of and would be interested in playing. Of course any backstory can be adjusted to better fit the setting.

The first one being a somewhat erratic fairy wild magic sorcerer who lost his memory and name in a bargain to cross over into the material plane. He is a cheery and somewhat mischievous kind of guy, however that masks a sense of loss underneath. He instinctively pulls on his ancestral magic in battle though due to his loss of identity the connection is strained and prone to go wild.

The second concept is Vongron Goldhand, a student of house Kunderak of Eberron, and a firm believer of Dugmaren Brightmantle. He wound up in Faerun after an encounter with a hooded figure wreathed in shadows, and looks to make the best of it by attempting to establish a warders guild similar to what he is used to from home. In an attempt to do so and find a way back to Eberron, he travels across Faerun taking requests for proper warding of possessions and other mercenary work. Mechanically, he'd be a Mark of Warding dwarf abjuration Wizard, built for frontline and utility (main gimmick being the Armor of Agathys behind Arcane ward extension).

The third one being a trained elven assassin named Lamril Na'emtil, originally at home in the misty forest. He was sent on a mission to gather strength, and once he became lethal enough, invade the domain of Barovia in an attempt to deal with the source of the werewolf incursions once and for all. A taciturn wood elf, stern and guarded with no lack of faces he can wear, but chooses not to unless he has something to gain from a relationship. He prides himself in his mastery of stealth and archery and will challenge anyone who doubts the superiority of the Tel'quessir. Mechanically he'd be a wood elf assassin rogue, built around longbow sniping.

There are other concepts depending on who could fit the party and setting the most, however those three came to mind.
