In an email sent to customers earlier this week viewed by Engadget, the company announced that it had made updates to the “Dispute Resolution and Arbitration section” of its terms of service that would prevent customers from filing class action lawsuits.
Its important to keep in mind that you're not the only customer of 23andme, just like social media giants these guys can sell your data to insurence companies, drug manufacturers ect... I'll agree its a neat concept to check out your ancestry or screen for diseases but I'd stick with a regulated public health lab, they'll at least help interpret the results and are obligated to keep your data safe as a patient. I wouldn't trust these guys with my genetic information at all.
