WON Roundup - 2023.12.01

Gonna keep this contained to 1 thread for ease:

Punk/TK: 'For those wondering or disappointed that CM Punk said nothing about AEW, it’s because both he & others have signed several NDA’s with regards to talking publicly about the other.'

Punk: From the WWE side, they knew CM Punk would come in since there were two prior attempts Punk’s side made to come in. Once before he signed with AEW, and a second time last year when WWE couldn’t have gotten him anyway because his AEW contract was still in effect.

MJF's Injuries: He won’t be getting surgery and is going to be working on stem cell therapy and rehab to get ready. Surgery would have put him out for a couple of months. Whether he will do a match between now and then is not known, but he believes he can do careful matches or smoke & mirror matches prior to the PPV. Talent in wrestling working on torn labrums is not unusual, and he’s done it before. He suffered a torn labrum prior to his May 23, 2020, Double or Nothing PPV match with Jungle Boy and ended up with a breakthrough performance for both of them at the time. Although this tear is said to be worse than the 2020 tear.

Mercedes/Giulia: Mercedes Mone, who would be the top free agent out there, is finally back training for her return after either a broken ankle or broken foot suffered in the match with Willow Nightingale where she dropped her New Japan Strong women’s title. As best we can tell, she has no matches left on her deal with Japan because the planned Giulia vs Mone match upon her return is no longer in the books although Bushiroad does have interest in doing the match if they can. And for that matter, nobody knows for sure what Giulia’s decision will be between working in Japan and WWE, or if AEW would make an offer.

WB/Raw Television Rights: Regarding Warner Bros. Discover being interested in WWE RAW television rights, the WBD version told to many this past week is that Nick Khan last went to WBD in October with a pitch and was turned down.

And not WON but: Ronda Rousey: I'm Not Signing With AEW, I'm Trying To Be A Full-Time Mom

Good. I really don't want to see her. AEW just got rid of CM Punk, I really don't want them to bring in someone who's everything bad about Punk with none of the good.

  • I remember Punk going to WWE and burying hatchets with HHH and Miz but so many were saying that it wasn't trying to get back in... Guess it was trying to get back in. It also proves to me he chose AEW because he had no other choice not because he believed in it.

I just don't get billionaires and their love of the NDA, man I wish I could be a billionaire and hand some out though.

Sucks for MJF to end up injured again, I hope the stem cells work. Mox must have put a curse on that belt that everyone that isn't him as champ must be injured.

I look forward to Mercedes Mones return to wrestling, I somewhat hope she picks AEW but their women's division isn't exactly on fire outside of Timeless Toni. I really woukd like to see more emphasis put back there

As for TV rights, the CW deal and Smackdown deals both seemed to hit the dirt sheet boys in the face before they knew what was happening, so I'll take his WBD thoughts with a huge grain of salt.
