Any “gotchas” with the Murena Fairphone 5?
Any “gotchas” with the Murena Fairphone 5?
Murena offer a degoogled /e/os version of the fairphone 5.
I’m wondering if there are any catches… eg
- have google privacy issues been replaced with murena ones?
- would we still expect the 8-10 years of updates?
- would there be any driver issues eg worse camera/face unlock/fingerprint experience?
Also if anyone has had one (murena or stock) since launch, how is it working out?

The Linux Experiment made a video about this a few months back I think.

Note that, while µG minimises data sent to Google, if an app uses Google's services in any way or has its own Google analytics or whatever, Google privacy issues still exist. Though in most cases to a much lesser degree.

1 0 ReplyDNS blocking is useful to have but will do next to nothing against Google's tracking.
