Thank you for keeping the PH community alive here on lemmy kahit di malakas ang engagement. I’m considering using this same format sa communities na minomod ko, kasi basically 0 engagement din sa kanila
Buhayin si lemmy.ph, a monthly thread would be somewhat depressing in my opinion. But I indeed might be the minority, having actively avoided all things reddit since the fiasco. I don't think I've opened any reddit link for a month or so now, the only time I see reddit is through screenshots lol.
I still go to Reddit at least every other day, albeit just as a casual reader and not a participant. It's the only place where you can find answers to most questions, specifically obscure passions. Lemmy isn't there yet.
"She" is. Pero nagka-issue the last few days, coincidentally when yaya on Reddit also went down. I've been manually posting the RD threads during that downtime, which can be tiresome. Can't be doing this every day every dawn.
It's been a very slow burn, but thanks for keeping PH on Lemmy alive. Don't put too much pressure on yourself to bear the weight of the community's longevity, though. Just as long as may pwede kaming puntahang alternative PH online community, okay na yun.
At the moment, mas okay nga yung monthly thread until we hit a certain volume.
sitcoms. B99, Community, 2 Broke Girls, some SNL skits, ABS CBN's weeknight comedy shows (90s). watched some episodes recently and i found out bentang benta pa rin sa akin ang mga jokes despite the political incorrectness of some punchlines.
Pano mo itatax mga freelancers when most of them barely have a stable job/income, heck even a job? Kung meron man, it's below the annual tax threshold. Wala rin silang benefits that regular employees have like life insurance, HMO, 13/14th month pay, bonuses, allowances to cover their electricity/internet/aircon, and so on. And some freelancers actually file their taxes, otherwise they lose out on visa and other perks that require an ITR.
Masama lang loob mo kasi nakakakita ka nagpopost sa social media na freelancer kuno making this and that when they're either lying or not representative of the freelancer industry as a whole.
Ang dapat tina-tax viciously are the top 1%. Wag ka maging mouthpiece para sa mga mayayaman by blabbering yet another solution that creeps on your fellow poor Filipino.
Independent content creators are barely making a minimum wage in a day. BIR thought having a presence online made millions. #TaxTheRich
Yup, porke nakakita sila isang influencer na nagyayabang ng 5million/day, may sweeping generalization na kaagad to tax the YouTubers. Content creators that make the big bucks are independently wealthy to begin with or celebrities or have big jugs/blessed with gluta drips by default. Mangilan-ngilan lang yung "yumaman" dahil sa YouTube, maybe even barely 0.3%.
Those who do make some money, it's about equivalent to the monthly salary of a BPO worker... and again, wala sila benefits so that money isn't even as high as you think.
Of course, hindi natin sinasabi na tama ginagawa nila or kinukunsinte natin. We're just saying na there's a reason behind it and by regurgitating this same old question again and again as well as agreeing with the legislators pitching "No Parking, No Car" bills, you are unwittingly supporting the uncreative and inutile politicos. Isama mo na rin mga wealthy who don't have these problems because they can hoard vehicles to not be inconvenienced by whatever traffic management schemes concocted.
as time goes by, parami nang parami ang mga sasakyan to the point matatagalan ang pagpasok ng isang kotse sa highway na used to be 30 secs tops waiting lang, ngayon more than a minute or two na, minsan five. i resent our being car culture,
This circles back to the government. Bad transport breeds motorcycles and cars. Number coding schemes lead to more cars. Giving exemptions to those with purchasing power equals more cars, albeit better than fossil fuels I guess.
1 week na lang December na, all I can feel that's remotely relevant to the Christmas season is the cold air sweeping in from Siberia. I'm not feeling the spirit this year.
If there's one type of post that I'm absolutely sick of at r/ph it's the "Inflation is real" with matching portion size pic in fast food establishments. Yes we get it, prices are getting higher while portion sizes are getting smaller. You don't have to remind us almost every fucking week.
When they ("they" as in anyone who complains about inflation) do it, it's mostly as a way to disparage the present administration complete with another shot at those who voted for him. Inflation is inevitable, kahit sino pa nakaupo. Jeepney's won't be P1.50 forever, your 2-piece chicken meals aren't going to be P90 until the day you die, businesses will always think of ways to make a profit when their margins are affected so if that means cutting the siomai pieces to 2 from 4 or using less sugar, they will do it.
Complaining about inflation is unintentionally praising the good old days of Marcos Sr. when he was just fresh off a reset button. If there's anyone to blame, it's the corporations. Heck, they should be adjusting your salary to compensate for inflation.
Minsan talaga ayoko buksan yung box ng regalo, yung tipong it's the thought that counts na lang.
May proof of delivery na malabong picture na walang makitang details and halatang hindi on destination and maling package.
Nag-reply yung rider the next day na nahulugan daw siya ng parcels at kasama yung sa'kin. Pwede daw ba bayaran na lang niya? Pumayag naman ako and nagsend ako ng details. Mga 5-7 days daw yung processing.
After 5 days, wala pang update, so nagsabi ako na ipa-process ko na lang officially since ayoko maabutan ng auto-tag as received.
Hindi siya dumating by the 7th day and di na ulit nagreply ulit yung rider sa messages.
Nag-process ako officially and na-mark as accepted yung request for refund ko after a couple of hours.
Less than 300 lang yung item, di actually worth it sa sakit ng ulo.
Yup. I'd rather sell to someone next year than today but not have them read the ad then pag nakuha na ang daming reklamo. Not like he's going to have one, but buyers are often weird and unreasonable.
Minsan nga napapagbintangan ako na scammer with my system of 1) payment first, and 2) delivery/pickup only. Hassle kasi yung pupunta si rider, tatawag/magpipicture back and forth, tapos saka ko pa lang sisilipin payment. Hindi mo kasi pwede ibilin unlike with my system that as long as paid they can pick up at any time.
Yes, I know talamak mga scammer, but my feedback speaks for itself and the pickup point is my house and not the Barangay Hall. If you have a bad feeling then I highly recommend buying somewhere else.
Don't have Spotify since I prefer to stream losslessly via Plex. I only have two 2023 albums constantly played, and it's by Maisie Peters and the comeback from In Flames.
Wais ba mga pinoy YouTubers? I'm using LibreTube kasi may Sponsorblock, this is useful feature para ma-skip yun intro/ending credits or paid segments sa video. Pero this will only work kung si YT creator is ni-label nya yun mga segments ng video nya. Akalain mo bang mga Pinoy vloggers walang chapters kaya di effective sponsorblock.
Sad lang walang LibreTube for iOS.
wala namang naitutulong ang nitro imo, though nung cheap pa nun at hindi pa nahati sa different tiers ang nitro i subscribed for maybe 2 months just for the heck of it. that's why i know it ain't worth it
I agree. Signed up last year when Globe had a promo for an annual plan and I don't think nagamit ko masyado mga features niya other than being able to use reactions across channels, which quite frankly, shouldn't cost anything. Kaya ngayon nangungulit sila and dangling 2-week trials. Never again.
I was watching the news earlier and I've always wondered why people give interviews to the media. If my family gets massacred, the last thing I want to do is speak to a reporter. Not today, not ever. Conversely, a suspect saying "nagawa ko lang dahil sa mahigpit na pangangailangan" doesn't do him any favors.
Damn, I really hate the "other side." Imbes na makipag-discuss at mag-expand, sasabihan ka pang dami mong alam, like damn, it's progressively worse just like Facebook (PH). Kung maging crackhead man ako or something, I'm rather bubbling myself here on Lemmy (fediverse).
Na-curious ako sa NewJeans and checked them out. Their sound is indeed different from the usual kpop I hear na R&B-inspired (I don't like R&B). It also turns out that it's their song that my 4-year-old keeps singing, lol.
i doubt viber and other messaging apps will loose users mainly cause people have grown comfortable using those apps were they to also adopt rcs you'd see the same problem
we use Viber kasi ginagamit na namin ito sa family ko since early 2010s, time before fb messenger was a thing, nung time hindi pa rakuten nag may-ari.
pangit backup system
it's a hit and miss, but shite, you can't use your backup when you're switching os. ang nakakainis, kahit naka-set na ang backup schedule to "daily," di pa rin nagba-backup, kailangan pa manually pindutin at dun mo na lang malalaman na mag-dalawang araw na nakalipas ang last backup.
the ads
I'm confused. Ford Explorer is the one on the lane and OP is outside of it. OP is also doing the classic Hawthorne Effect style of pretending to be cool, calm, and collected while filming as he passive-aggressively agitates the other guy.
The only mistake of the Explorer driver is that he's asking for the license which he has no right to. Other than that, it's hard to deduce anything from this video.
it's an obvious cut. we really don't know what happened before this video, BUT the gold here is... that guy demanding a license. parang binalaukan at the end, eh. haha
2.8k every 14 days isn't all that different from Freestyle Libre's 3.4k sensor. They're both prohibitively expensive for such a luxury device.
magandang email client for someone has domain? i cannot get rid this namecheap's spam protection kahit na napakaayos ng dns setting ko, hindi ako makapag-bcc ng invitations dahil minamark ni namecheap (privateemail) as spam. cheaper price sana, unlike tuta at protonmail.
