I'm working on uploading all 52 of my prerolls to my Peertube channel. It's a slow process as it's one at a time, but it's a good collection I've been working on for a while!
They're dumb, but in a fun way. I created my own preroll video with some music and a silly title card. For me it's a fun way of celebrating the work I put into my setup (again – I use a very dumb video), but also Plex's preroll logic alludes me. It doesn't run all the time.
Mostly, however, I have trailers play ahead of my movie. It's a good way of remembering what else is on my server.
edit: also why, for the love of god, does Plex not pre-buffer the movie during either pre-roll or trailers? It makes no sense!
Yup, a pre-roll is a short clip of your choice that you can play before movies/shows. It doesn't use internet sources and you just point it to a video on your server.
Agreed, I've never really explored it. I have a domain with a theme that I could carry into a custom branded pre roll. I'm assuming this would play for a few seconds before every file. But I'm not sure that I would want to subject my family to those extra seconds hah
I've never setup a Plex preroll but some of these are great! It looks like you can even do multiple from a list, I might have to check out some of these and add them to my server
