2 0 ReplySounds kinda western centric. Where do genres like slice of life, neverending serials, etc, fall in these categories?
1 0 ReplyWild the article never once cites Vladimir Propp. He's mentioned in the comments but he already proposed and analyzed this (mostly for Russian folklore) in the early 20th century in his structuralist work on narrative.
