What did you think was unique to your country or culture, but is actually not?
For me it was bryndza (sheep cheese). My whole childhood I heard about how unique it's for Slovakia. Turned out they have bryndza in Romania, Poland, Ukraine, ... all over carpathian region

Having a populace so fickle, distracted, and lacking of critical thinking skills that they elect deranged con men to positions of great power.
do you have any idea how little that narrows it down
The number of burger restaurants in Scandinavia surprised me. Not that I thought burgers were only a US thing, but the number and variety was surprising.
