The past is better
I would have to say, yeah, it sucks compared to having your own server. It's awesome not having to pay for it though. And, at least, it's distributed: one lemmnsfw instance might go down, but others will come up to replace and replicate the data set eventually.
Place is gonna be packed sooner or later
It's not the worst thing in the world. I feel like a Federated Booru work would best, but this is a good second choice.
I hope the mods are prepared for a flood of new registrations
