I use RetroArch, and it is very controller-friendly. It also supports RetroAchievements, which is a plus. However, some people view RetroArch on a negative light because of some drama linked to its main guy, who is kind of a dick.
I'm a big fan of Ludo. It's pretty minimalist and doesn't offer many options but chances are you won't need to tweak anything. The UI is gorgeous and simple. Wouldn't really have it any other way.
This looks super dope actually thanks! Do you know if you can set your own emulators instead of using the pre-packages ones? Didn’t see anything on their website about that.
Edit: looks like you have to use their baked in cores and there’s no support for n64, ps2, or Dreamcast yet :(
