NJPW/STARDOM News Conference Thread 2023-10-10

Takaaki Kidani talk about the growth of STARDOM's growth on YouTube. Mayu Iwatani says it must be due to the Shorts. Takaaki talks about the videos that got viral. Natsupoi says it is amazing that the "Indo" countries (India and Indonesia) have a greater view count than Japan. Takaaki says women's wrestling draws well overseas.

STARDOM All Star Grand Queendom 2024 was announced for April 27th at the new Yokohama BUNTAI (the former Yokohama Cultural Gymnasium). It will be the first pro-wrestling event at the new venue.

It is announced that next year on January 4th, STARDOM will have a show at Tokyo Dome City Hall at noon right before Wrestle Kingdom. The main event of the show will be an IWGP Women's Title match. Mayu Iwatani is asked about it and she seems disappointed that they will not have a match at Wrestle Kingdom. She says she still has to defend her belt overseas and there is no saying what happens till January 4th so she will do her best.

Historic X-Over 2 (working title) is coming soon!

The New Japan Pro-Wrestling x STARDOM joint show Historic X-Over 2 is announced for next year. Giulia is asked about tagging with Zack Sabre Jr. the last time. Giulia talks about their British team as she was born in the UK and says she thinks British men are gentlemen so she's looking forward to tagging as "Zack Sabre Giulia" again.

Mayu says she wanted to tag with Hiroshi Tanahashi. She says she wants to have a singles match at an event where a lot of eyes will be on her. But she also wants the Ace and The Icon to team up. Hiroshi Tanahashi says he's glad and says "let's do it".

The formation of the Asia Pacific Pro-Wrestling Alliance is announced. NJPW will partner with PUZZLE (Taiwan), DFW (China) SETUP (Thailand), GrappleMAX (Singapore) and more.

Takaaki says he thinks more promotions from other countries will want to join. Takaaki says one should not expect too much. He says he went to the shows in Singapore and the level was not very high and the wrestlers were small. He says it might take time, but he hopes to grow pro-wrestling in Asia with NJPW/STARDOM as the center. Giulia says she wants to do her best to to reach the fans there.
