The walkout Tuesday followed a petition by United Faculty and Staff of Oshkosh urging UW-Oshkosh leaders to reconsider its layoff plans and prioritize cutting administrative bloat.
Failure of the administration to properly manage finances while simultaneously hiring more and more administrators in highly-paid positions has led to a million-dollar deficit at several UW campuses. To combat this, administration officials are not looking to cut their numbers but rather to furlough staff positions.
