Image hosting on pawb.social vs. hosting externally

Heyo, how much should we care about uploading images to pawb.social? I've been trying to upload to imgbox instead of pawb.social to limit the amount of extra bandwidth/hits that pawb.social needs to serve, but I'm not sure how much that actually costs in reality (or e.g. if it will end up scaling poorly in the future). I imagine there might be an image cache anyway, which would line up nicely with new posts getting a buzz of attention.

On a related note, I did see this post on object storage recently, which may be helpful if we're not already doing something similar.
