On the plus side, you can try baking apples again with your new charcoal briquette.
7 0 ReplyJust tell people they’re dipped in dark chocolate
6 0 ReplyI expect that you can just cut the outside off and it'll taste fine.
I recall a Family Circus cartoon where Dolly is looking at a toaster and yelling "Mommy, the toast is ready for scraping!"
4 0 ReplyWhen I was a kid we used to do something called "Screaming Apples" where you put the apple on a stick, stuck it in the campfire like a marshmallow and waited for it to make a sound kind of like a siren. When it got noisy, it was cooked.
4 0 ReplyYou need a Dutch oven or a similar device to bake in hot coals.
3 0 ReplyToo many slices
2 0 ReplyI think you're supposed to light the wood, not the apples.
On a side note, do you use your ovens self clean cycle to cook a roast as well?
3 1 ReplyNice and crispy
2 0 ReplyHonestly under the charred skin it looks perfectly caramelized and delicious.
1 0 ReplyWrap in tin foil and then put on a grill over the fire. This is just cajun blackened apples without the spice.
