Update:@[email protected] has been kind enough to add Rediggit as a native theme to the lemmy.ca instance. You can now access it from your account settings page, without the need of another browser add-on.
Just posting an update on my Rediggit theme, in case anyone else prefers a reddit/digg-style interface for the desktop.
Highlights include:
Flexible full-width layout, with fixed width for vote buttons and thumbnail columns
Strong focus on content and discussion (improved comment legibility)
Sounds great. Shoot me a message if you want a version with your instance logo and title back to normal. The latest version I pushed is just playing around with some design concepts on a unified branding, and I'll probably revert things or try something new in the coming weeks.
Thanks! It isn't really meant for mobile, since there are plenty of apps already which provide a superior UI. I do plan to do a dark version of Rediggit eventually but it's not there yet.
Lemmy's frontend templating keeps changing with every release, which is expected but also presents a challenge to keep the themes working. For example, there are currently three different versions of lemmy-ui in use across the most popular instances, each requiring slightly different tweaks. Hopefully, things will stabilize a bit in the near future.
