Doomers believe a climate disaster has become inevitable. Looking at the odds, they're not far off the mark.

  • I think Doomism is a broad term and people who identify as a Doomer may have many different predictions about what they think will happen, when it will happen, and how certain or not they are about it.

Also how it effects their life, if they actively talk about it with their friends and family or keep quiet about it.

For myself, I'm 90 percent certain there is going to be a die off of at least 6 billion people involving a lot of violence and war and the collapse of global civilization.

I'm not sure what timescale it will take place over or exactly when it will seriously kick off. I would guesstimate 15 years give or take 10.

I'm expecting it to happen or at least begin in my lifetime ( I'm 58 ). I'm very worried about my children ( around 29 ) who I had long before I became collapse aware.

I do talk about it with my kids though I don't think they they fully believe it will ever happen.

I talk about it with friends but to a lesser extent. I can tell I'm making them uncomfortable especially one with very young children, so I tone it down or shut up sometimes because I would like to keep him as a friend.
