Trellis Netting

So let's talk about trellis netting. I saw a video the other day where the grower had more or less draped a trellis net over his plants opposed to building a frame and mounting the net. Has anyone else tried this? I think im going to need something to support my outdoor plants. They're growing in pots and I want to keep them mobile asitss starting to get cold here in northern Canada and they'll be sleeping in the garage soon.

  • I've seen photos of outdoor growers basically draping the trellis but never saw the end result or heard how the harvesting process went...

As a long time indoor/greenhouse grower here, from my experience, the tighter the trellis is the better. It's just much easier to work with. Especially at scale.

If the stems and stalks are hearty and sturdy, you can get away with the trellis being a bit loose. But if your strain or growing methods/environment results in the stems being weak or noodle-y, you're going to have a bad time when harvesting. Especially at scale
