I have tried pretty much all of the apps that I've seen being mentioned (Jerboa, Liftoff, Connect, Thunder, Summit, Lemming, etc.). Using wefwef.app which is a PWA inspired by Apollo.
Going to stick with it until Sync for Lemmy comes out because I was on Sync for R****t before the whole fiasco. Registered for Boost for Lemmy as well. Wefwef is pretty nice and smooth for the time being though.
I'm testing out all the ones I can find for android. I've got Jerboa, Connect, Thunder, Summit, and Lemmynade. At this point, all of them have some missing features/functionality here and there, but my favorite so far is Lemmynade.
Several of these are not on Play Store, only on F-Droid or directly from Github. I know Lemmynade is only on Github for now, and 1 or 2 of the others but I don't remember which.
I just had a very specific setup in Joey for Reddit that was exactly the way I wanted it to be, with a layout that mostly supported a left handed mode and a bottom navigation bar, and customizable compact modes and a really huge amount of customizable options in general for the UI and how things are displayed/laid out.
I have tried liftoff, thunder and wefwef.. Sticking with wefwef because it's like very much like Apollo just missing features here and there which they might add soon!
