I like it, but there aren't any bears in my apartment.
- One less thing to worry about.
The butt-dip is actually a good idea! I never thought to try it.
- the ideal is a soft spot with an existing dip. alternatively, you can scoop/shape the terrain to fit your body. i prefer sleeping under a tree where possible and one can easily shape the leaves/pine needles/detritus.
  
  Here in Australia sleeping under gum trees is dangerous as they randomly shed limbs. But on the bright side we don't have bears (everything else on the continent is going to try to kill you though)
Why shoes near elbows? Everything else makes sense but I don't get the shoe placement.
- it keeps your elbows off the ground. i've used this exact setup before and it works great.
