The City of Kingston is looking to automate the collection of curbside trash and green bins within the next few years, but says the switch will not result in layoffs.

I wonder why this is limited to regular garbage and compost but not recycling? I guess they've gotta start somewhere. With the existing system, the open and relatively shallow blue and grey boxes mean every time there is a windy day, we're picking up our neighbour's papers and plastics and vice versa.
