  • 2 downvotes in 2 hours, what's going on?

    • I was wondering the same thing, actually. I guess some people just like to make the world burn. I upvoted ya!

      • Thanks! Reading around Lemmy, I've come to learn that sports is like the #2 thing people most complain about showing up in their feeds after porn. My guess is that some lemmy.ca users scrolling a local feed downvoted the post because they don't want to see sports instead of blocking the community. I think my post time around Monday 9am ET might've made this post more visible than usual on local feeds. I think posting middle of the day might be better. Thanks for listening to my analysis :)

  • Elks vs. Tiger Cats tonight, this could be an interesting one. Ticats haven't been particularly impressive this year, and the Elks finally looked like they were starting to put something together last week. Should be fun.

    • By track record, they might have an easier time getting a W outside of Edmonton too

  • Lions @ Riders has been entertaining so far! It's starting to look like the Riders will hang on and that this is their game. An interesting point was made on the TV broadcast about the Lions, how they either win or lose by big margins but haven't had close games this year. That might make other teams' scouting and game prep a little easier :P

  • I didn't catch the game, but I see another close loss for the Redblacks. Meanwhile, the Als are picking up momentum and now have a 6-3 record

  • This will be an interesting weekend in terms of the Stampeders and Roughriders battling for 3rd in the West. I didn't realize what a tough August the Stampeders have: Argos twice, Bombers, Lions. Their September strength of schedule is easier: two games with the Elks and a bye. Meanwhile the Riders have a fairly tough August and then a tougher September (like the Stamps had in August) with the Lions once and the Bombers twice

    • Wow, pick six go-ahead TD for the Bombers to end Q3. First TD of the game too. Should be a good Q4!
