Lego Lighthouse build: Day 1

I recently received the Lego lighthouse set (21335) in no small part because I thought it would look hella cute with these awesome minifigs made by @[email protected], and of course I had to document the process. Your honor, my hands were tied, the photo-ops were just too damn cute!

Apparently, every good Lego set build starts with assembling the minifigs. (Seriously, this was literally page 1 of the actual instructions.) So, let's go then:

Yup, I decided to give them the set outfit, lol. Isn't it just a hella cute cosplay?

Note that the set comes with a bucket to drop on Victoria's head if needed.

And with that, preparations were going as planned. Here are Max and Chloe surveying the mechanical system in the basement:

Seriously, this thing is frickin awesome. The motor is on a shock mount and the battery pack is just exceptionally well-integrated.

You can see that I got sidetracked a little when I figured out that minifigs can hold hands...

"Stop messing with the lever, you overgrown child!"

Selfie time!

Holy shit, Max! We're frickin rich!

This little cave in the set is such a cool detail. I had to take this shot before the ceiling was added, but you can already see the lever on the side (the very same that Chloe couldn't leave alone), it's super easy to access and still near-invisible from all angles.

"Whoa..."
"Don't fall, Chloe."

This is just after I linked up the mechanics. The vertical shaft with the brown tip rotates, that's gonna transfer the power to rotate the lantern. I think. We'll see, I guess.

They also included these golden rings in the set, as a spacer in the mechanical design, so like, I just had to, lmao.

(Also, something is illegal about this pic and it's not their marriage, see if you can find it.)

In fact, they included two extra rings, not just one, like they normally do for small pieces like this. I guess they knew what I was gonna do with this set, lol. So here's the duo just waiting until I finish their home above.

I love this little slanted section in the build. Not only is it an amazing little romantic spot, it's also such a cool idea, and the execution is just way more solid than I thought it would be. And it's nicely out of the way so now I always have a spot for Max and Chloe.

Anyway, I called it here for the day. I'm done with 4 sections. Of the 13. This is gonna be a long project...
