There were too many guitar players around, I liked the way it sounded, that's about it. I ended playing in a crappy death metal band at 17, good memories.
I‘ve yet to find a genre that isn‘t in dire need of more bassists. I personally know quite a few bands who’s bass players are secretly guitarists in disguise!
So you‘re satisfied with the brand? My experience with HB wasn‘t the best sadly. I used to own a multiscale 7 string HB which they had to replace, because the first one was in such an unplayable condition that even I who considers himself quite savvy in terms of fixing stuff was unable to make it work. The replacement, while also a lemon with flaws in the finish, misaligned saddles and chips in the neck, was at least fixable to a playable degree.
But I‘m glad to see others had a better experience!
I guess satisfied mostly because I don't really know any other brands, so I don't have a comparison to go off of. But for the most part, I like them just fine.
