I’m taking a little break from writing these posts because I’ve been asked to turn the newsletter into a book on Copaganda. That is taking up a lot of the time I’m not working on our civil rights cases. But, in researching for the book, I kept coming across a pattern that I wanted to write about:
Modern pro police propaganda rarely prints outright lies. Instead, media outlets subtly ignore or mischaracterize police critics, which push the reader to create the lie themselves in their head that there are no alternatives and that all the policies of critics have been tried and have failed. Karakatansis shows this with plenty of examples he is becoming one of my favorite commentators on the issue
