Hey peeps, I'm the head mod or reddit's /r/piracy. I'm setting up things to cover for lemmy.ml in case the load is too much on the 12th.
I'm now a mod on /c/piracy via my lemmy.ml and fmhy account so I can handle things if things go tits up.
With reddit shooting itself in the foot regarding the API, its probably just a matter of time before they come for the piracy subs. Great excuse to try out the Fediverse :)
I'm a silent follower of your sub, but I hope you guys are staying here for good even after the reddit drama. Or I guess handling 2 communities on different sites is more than a handful?
I want to thank you for all of this awesome work you're doing for the community. I have been browsing Lemmy for 2 weeks without an account, unsure of which instance to sign up under. When I saw the FMHY R*ddit post about Lemmy I was finally ready to create my account!! Can't think of a better group of people to join.
I'm really looking forward to this, let's see what we can do for each other in the wake of RARBG!
NSFW only instances should be up soon for communities like those. Many instances will want to defederate with nsfw instances so it might not be a good idea to allow them here.
So, basically, what you're saying is, I have to have an account on each instance? I already have like 3 accounts on Lemmy cuz I need to split my multiple personalities (in case friend or family get onboard Lemmy, or someone asks for my Lemmy account link), making one on every instance is just... excuse me for saying this, but fuckin' nuts.
This shit just blows... I don't even use 3rd party apps on Reddit, might as well go back there...
Searching for something that's not cached (it hasn't been searched by anyone else on the instance) takes arounf ~10 seconds to show up. So you might just have to wait a bit.
