Alternative to Google Maps Location Sharing / Apple FindMy
Is there a European alternative to Apple FindMy or GoogleMaps location tracking that allows you to share your location with each other?
I would be very grateful for any tips.
Element (Matrix) supports location sharing.

5 0 ReplyThere are plenty selfhosted alternatives, where your location-data can be stored and shared on/from your own hardware, like Hauk: https://github.com/bilde2910/Hauk .

Russian-owned, with no end-to-end encryption by default.

It's true that you'd have to start a secret chat in order to be end-to-end encrypted and this is a huge design flaw.
