Login Before Verification has Bad UX

I just created a lemm.ee account and didn't realize an e-mail verification link was sent. I tried logging in. When I did, the login button temporarily changed to a loading icon, and then just left me at the login in page. There was no indication that I needed to verify my e-mail.

It would be helpful to have some error text to indicate the e-mail is not verified when the login fails. Right now, users are likely to assume lemm.ee is broken.

  • I think it's more of a software issue than an instance one, maybe you could post it on the devs server lemmy.ml?

    It's on the homepage before you sign up, not sure admins can do more than that if this is not addressed at a software level:
