Marshall being seemingly the only truly good person in this is compelling (and sadly true-to-life)... especially now that there's suspicion that he's not such a good person after all.
Also, Nick seems like an oblivious doofus but he also showed he was paying attention to things Frances said and tried to get her a gift that reflected that he listened. (It isn't his fault that Frances can't focus on the "normal" right now) I hope his character ends up being utilized more, it is nice to see a representation of a bro dingus who is actually nice deep down, and I hope we see more of that from him.
