What's the closest to T1 and the Shifter mod?
I really enjoyed being a base janitor/infiltrator in T1 with the shifter mod. I wasn't really into the whole gotta go fast thing, I just liked infrastructure destruction and defense
What's the closest to that with the modern games?
T1+Shifter was the peak of Tribes. Perfect for those days you didn't want to be on offense. Just stay in the base and build and protect. Really hoping that can be brought back in this new Midair thing.
I wasn't a gotta go fast kind of player until Ascend. I just liked staying at home and keeping the lights on.
I should check out Midair.
Ascend was my favorite after OG Tribes. Had a good community for a while.
Hoping Midair takes off but the bottom line is it's relying on millennials and older gen Z to show up. Hoping we can get enough to fully populate a server. Gotta have a lot of players to make it work right. All it takes is one full server.
I don't think you'll find anything as complete as T1 + Shifter, but there's always T2 these days
There's also Midair2 with this kind of feeling, but imho still not enough weapons or vehicles and no destructible infrastructure
