Approximately a month ago, following Freeland’s dramatic exit from the Liberal cabinet, the Conservatives opened up a seemingly insurmountable lead of 25 points. Since then, the entire complexion of what appeared to be an inevitable Conservative majority has changed. This massive lead has virtually evaporated over a one-month period.
There’s definitely some “Biden said he’s not running again” energy in Canada right now. The Conservatives had a single page in their playbook and it’s just been made obsolete.
Like many have said Pierre had 2 things he wasn't Trudeau and Carbon Taxes. Both were flimsy but enough for voters to latch onto.
Now Trudeau is gone and his response to a real and much bigger tax threat(Trump's 25%) is trying to get something going with "wokeism" it's pretty much down from here.
Especially when people hear how Trump's cronies are fighting wokeism in the government by suspending the welfare state. People who weren't paying attention are quickly going to get up to date on the sham it all is/was. Meanwhile PP keeps using the same words.
Eh, I can't help but be a little bit hopeful, but remember that whenever the Liberals pick their new leader, "Fuck Trudeau" will be updated into "This person is just Trudeau again but worse". It's just that this is not very effective until the actual person is chosen.
But as always, what we need to do doesn't change. Get out and vote. Convince reasonable people to vote.
