Problem is, tf2 doesn't work all that well in solo deathmatch since the classes are design to work together and support roles flounder when alone. Medic and Spy in particular wouldn't work well in a solo mode.
I could totally see something with 16 teams of six, though.
This is the exact problem. It’s designed to be objective based with classes working together in specific roles. Overwatch would have a similar issue with BR design
Apex is the closest thing with unique play styles for different characters. But they all pick up the same weapons.
I could see this working MAYBE if it were teams of 3 where each team is forced to have a defensive/support/offensive for some form of balance.
The main issue is the game isn’t designed to handle more than two teams and neither are the maps.
I could only see a 50v50 no respawn death match but it’s likely to be a laggy shit show. Anything beyond that would probably require some modification.
Could be interesting but I’m not sure how a server would handle it.
