So fucked. He should have let Trump fire him. Go out fighting.
I don't know if this is a "thing" but i read it on the Internet, so grain of salt:
If he got fired, they could suppress the report, but resigning allows it to go through proper (not Trump's) channels and be released to the public.(?)
Big if true.
That's a huge falling-on-your-sword event.
And just like literally falling on a sword, no one but the wielder will be hurt by it.
